I just completed a HW quilt using all different sized strips (total of 7) to make my quilt. I found that if you do the first and last fabric in your strip bright or colorful, they really do pop when the blocks are put together. Mine is in leftovers from another quilt pattern I did in turquoise and lime green prints and I kept having a little voice in my head say "add purple". I didn't listen and I know now that really would have made a striking quilt!
