It Moose Be Love Blog Hop

February is the month of love, and I have fallen in love with card making using my embroidery machine. Being a quilter at heart, I prefer to stitch the cards to a little quilt sandwich instead of paper, though.
This is from "Designs by JuJu" and they stitch up in 15-20 minutes on cardstock paper.

I am still on my mission to stash and pattern bust, so this month, my project was a new table runner for Valentines day. This pattern has been in my to do pile since 2014. A decade! Holy cow, now I'm afraid to dig deeper in that pile.

This is "Topsy Turvy Moose" who was supposed to be Northwoods colors.
It took a little imagination, but I managed to put a little Valentines spin on it.
But now that I think about it, I've seen plenty of pink and green Christmas things as well.
Maybe I have a new multi-seasonal runner.
LOL!!

I was still not done with the "Love" theme projects this month.

I fell in love with the clipart I found for the blog button...and had to turn it into a wall quilt.
It's 32" square, so there was lots of little piecing going on for the blocks around it. I love chain piecing, until of course that blasted bobbin thread runs out. ARRRRGH!
Tee hee hee

It makes me smile every time I go into my sewing room.

There are lots more things to make us smile this week...
Check out these bloggers today and leave them a sweet comment. After all, it is the month of LOVE!

Getting away and the February Blop Hop Schedule

I've been MIA for a bit, and all for a good reason.

We took a little family trip.
A combination of Christmas and a couple of birthday celebrations.

I am officially obsessed with making T-shirts with the Cricut machine now.
Cutting vinyl is so fun and easy and Etsy offers a multitude of fun designs.

Since we were traveling with little people, we took an umbrella stroller to help get through the airports.
To make it easier to put under the airplane, I made up with little bag for it and used the excess vinyl from one of the shirts. It worked out great.
I'd love to say we have great photos of all of us in our shirts, but between the cold and rain and little man having blowouts in his clothes before we got photos, well what can I say? HAHAHA

This is as good as photos get!

We did manage to get a little bit of sunshine and silliness though.

It was definitely a trip of firsts. First plane ride for the little ones...first time hauling carseats, a pack n play, and a ton of luggage! Actually it was the first time going through the airport looking like the Clampets! HAHAHA
We are not from Beverly Hills, but we were the essence of the Clampets!
Colorado Clampets one of my friends called us.
You gotta love traveling with kids.
Definitely one of those trips  we will remember forever.
The fun didn't stop there. I got home washed up our clothes slept a few hours and headed out for a quilt retreat. Yep, Nana got her own little private vaca too!

My friend and I have found that hotel quilt retreats are really a fun quick little retreat, for us.
A couple hours from home, make us feel like we have really escaped too.
This time the "Springhill Suites" was the perfect place. Their suites room are plenty big for 2. The beds are super comfortable and the perfect height to sit on to sew. So we just took a couple of small folding tables and we were all set. Ummmm...and our machines, and our projects and our wine and our snacks...Ok I do see that Clampet theme going on once again! HAHAHA
There is a small living room and they have a mini fridge and a microwave. Breakfast was free...what else could be need!
I made good use of my time there working on blog hop projects...
Can't wait to share...

Speaking of hops

This one starts in just a couple of weeks.
We have 23 fabulous bloggers who are putting finishing touches on their projects to share with you.

Mark your calendars and we will see you then!

February - Bona Lisa's Sweater Emporium BOM

"Ye Ole Homestead"
This month brings us Bona Lisa's dusty ole barn...

"Bona's Kicking It Up Boots"
From Carol at "Just Let Me Quilt" Check out her blog or our Facebook page, for pattern information.

Do you want to join in the BOM fun? Check out our Facebook page HERE.
Check out Just Let Me Quilt's version HERE and Creatin' in the Sticks HERE.
It's amazing how different it can look with other fabrics.
How does our Bona Lisa's Sweater Emporium BOM work?
It runs from January 1st through August 31st.
All block releases happen on the first day of each month. They can be conveniently found on our Cackling Stitches Facebook page HERE.
They will be pinned under the "Featured" tab to make them easy to locate.

It's not a mystery BOM. We show you each of our finished quilts!
On the first day of each month, we release a block pattern (sometimes it's more than one)
that is free for the entire calendar month. After that, those blocks go into our individual
ETSY shops where you can purchase them for $2 each.
New and free block(s) then appear for the new month...and so on, and so on.

Beginning January 1st, the ENTIRE pattern is available in each of our ETSY shops for $15.
We've had so many people ask us if they can buy the whole thing at once, so we decided to go for it.
If you can't wait for each block release or you don't have a Facebook page, this is for you!

We hope you appreciate the time we put into creating this BOM and understand that we keep
the costs to a minimum for you. We ask that you respect our copyrights and do not share the
pattern with others. You're welcome to direct your friends to our Cackling Stitches Group
Facebook or any of our ETSY shops so they can get their own patterns starting January 1st.

January Blocks

"Bona Lisa" by MooseStashQuilting

"In Vest" by "Creatin' in the Sticks"

"Repulsive Ruffled Sweater by "Just Let Me Quilt"
You can choose to make the entire quilt, or just a wall hanging, the choice is yours! Either way, you will be able to collect many different "Sweaters" throughout the BOM, for your sweet skeleton.  If you are making your sweaters like paper doll clothes, just fuse the sweaters onto a piece of felt. If you have ever wanted to become a designer, give it a try and design and share a sweater with us. We can't wait to see what you dream up.
