Easter Party Quilt-A-Long "BIG" Reveal

Without further ado... Let me introduce "Easter Party" to you!

We couldn't have done it, without this fabulous pattern from my favorite designer, "Angie" from Angie's Bits and Pieces.

Thank you Angie for not only inspiring us with your incredible talent, but allowing me to bring it to life with the help of none other than Island Batik.

Of course it goes without saying...

It's really "YOU"  who makes it all happen. It's because of "you" that I'm even able to do this "Quilt-A-Long".  When this "lil" blogger started her blog in 2009, she never imagined that it would turn into what it has become today.

I thought...it might keep me on track. Maybe finish a few things, from time to time. Allow me to share with you, occasionally.  Never did I expect it to take over my life!  I now stitch with a passion... to share, to inspire, to hopefully bring a laugh to your day.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... My goal is to inspire and entertain you down this crazy quilting road we all "seam" to love to travel. You have made it so much fun! All of you, who have chosen to follow me...well lets just say, you blow me away!  Your inspiration, and friendship. What a great community we have become!

As for Island Batik, I can't thank  you enough for believing in me, and allowing me to play!  This just might be the best "gig" I have ever had!   ;-)

Lesson learned...
Follow your dreams, and you will go great places!
;-)

Easter Party Quilt-A-Long block 10

This block is going to wrap up the lower part of our little quiltie.
And yes, it's the second to the last block.

Nothing completes Easter like a vase of fresh flowers!
Flowers that sit on a background of Island Batik "Rice" from the Neutrals Collection.

The other Island Batik fabrics that bring this block to life are from left to right...

BE24-D1 from the Blenders Collection
Almond from the Neutrals Collection
111505100 from the Flower Fields Collection
111505165 from the Flower Fields Collection
111512077 from the Flower Fields Collecction
111502107 from the Country Fair Collection

Let me share a tip with you...
When you transfer your design to your fusible as I have done,
transfer those lines that you need to embroidery too.

If you use a fine tip Sharpie, you will be able to see thru your fabric
once it's fused. A window in a sunny location works great if you don't have a light box.

If you look closely, you can see the faint lines under the fabric.

Even on a darker fabric, you can still make them out,
although it's much harder to see in this photo.

You can then, using a pencil transfer them to your fabric for embroidery.

That's what brings your flower to life. I free motion stitched these on my sewing machine.
Hand embroidery is another way to embellish them, as well as the vase.

Another thing I want to mention, is looking past our fabric.
What I mean by that is...
the fabric above reminds me of a outdoors pine cone type of print.
Nothing that would make me think Easter Party at all.
But that is exactly what I used for the rose in my vase.
Yes, you can still see some of those pine needles in the rose above,
but it sure doesn't look anything like this outdoors print anymore does it.

There is a good lesson in there, and I am learning to see my fabrics in a whole new way!

Whoo-hoo, the bottom blocks are complete.
It's a "party" for sure!

Grab those threads and join the fun!
It's never too late.

Easter Quilt-A-Long Block 9

Do you realize that there are only 3 more blocks?

This time we are going to work on cups,
to match our tea pot block.

Again lots of room for those decorative stitches on our machines.
Or a little hand embroidery!

These cups sit on a background of Island Batik
"Sprinkles" from the Neutral Collection.

These Island Batik fabrics are from left to right...

111505101 from the Flower Fields Collection
111504144 from the Country Fair Collection
111516164 from the Flower Fields Collection
Almond from the Neutrals Collection
111505100 from the Flower Fields Collection

Now those are some hot-cha-cha tea cups.
Don't you agree?

You just have to love this!

"Sew" grab those threads and jump on in!

Easter Party Quilt-A-Long Block 8

Starting on our last row...
It's bunny time again.

After the "hare" raising experience of our last block,
we are going to make this one, quick and easy!
:-)
This trio sits on a background of Island Batik
"Batter" from the Neutrals Collection again.

Our Island Batik color pallet from left to right...

111509193 from the Flower Fields Collection
111512077 from the Flower Fields Collection
111505165 from the Flower Fields Collection
Almond from the Neutrals Collection

Such a simple little block with such dramatic results.
I love how it picks up all the colors in our print...
Which, yes is going to be our final border!
;-)

We are moving right along here!

And I know you don't want to miss out...
so grab those threads and read up on how this works right

 Til next time

Easter Party Quilt-A-Long Block 7

This week our block is probably the most involved of them all.
But if you've been working your way along, you have nothing to worry about.

 My absolute favorite block!

It sits on a background of none other than
Island Batik "Batter" from the Neutral Collection.
Yes, I must admit, this was pre-planned.
When I got all my fabrics, I knew that this fabulous cake
had to sit on a batter background.
Have you ever had cake batter ice cream at Cold Stone?
It's to die for!
LOL!

All the colors of the rainbow!
From left to right from Island Batik...

111509193 from the Flower Fields Collection
111512077 from the Flower Fields Collection
111501168 from the Flower Fields Collection
111505190 from the Flower Fields Collection
111502107 from the Country Fair Collection
111518113 from the Country Fair Collection
BE-25-F1 from the Blenders Collection
Almond from the Neutrals Collection

Don't let this block overwhelm you.
Just take it one step at a time.
There are lots of little embellishments, but they are easy enough.
Again, on the cake plate, I chose to cut out my little designs and thread paint in the centers,
but it's all about choice. Make yours all about you!

2 of our 3 row are complete.
Woozier!

If you haven't joined us yet, I hope this block inspires you!
Grab those threads and jump on in!

Till next time...
