Hearts on Fire Blog Hop with Crafters Edge

The "Moose Boys" have been feeling a little bit neglected lately!
They just didn't understand why they had taken a back seat for so long.
So this time, it's all about them.
Maybe!
:-)
In honor of the "boys"...
...this is "Once in a Blue Moose"
(paying homage to their tender feelings, don't you know)

AND we are going to pretend it's all about them.
BUT, there is a hidden meaning to this quiltie, I'll share in a bit.

We all know that quilts tell a story. We have learned to look beyond the fabric and the finished project and see the love and memories that were put into it.
"Crafter's Edge" has given us a way to really make our projects speak, with their alphabet dies.

My heart was on fire...or should I say my Crossover II was on fire,
as I cut out 23 hearts in a matter of minutes.
Then moving on to the letters... it was so easy to line the letters up
on my fabric and cut them at the same time.
That's the real joy of having separate dies to work with.

I love using Thermoweb HeatNBond®Lite fusible web on my appliques.
SprayNBond®Basting Adhesive is a no oder must, for keeping my quilt sandwich
firmly in tack, while quilting.

I didn't really have a plan when I started this.
It was one of those projects that just happened.
While playing around, I decided to I pre-quilted the background
 before I adding the appliques.
My mini "Oliso" iron was perfect to tack down my appliques as I stitched.

"Crafter's Edge", dies make it so easy to create "on the fly".
My favorite, has to be the fact that I could take my large moose applique,
and run it through the Crossover II machine, to cut out a heart
on his little rumpus.
That's next to impossible to do with other cutting systems.
As for that hidden meaning...
My "Blue Moose" hangs right over my sewing machine,
as reminder that I need to clean up my sewing room more than
 "Once in a Blue Moose".
And yes,  I actually cleaned my sewing room to hang it!
Happy Dance, Happy Dance.
Oh...shhhhhh
Can't let the boys hear that. Their dancing causes house to start shaking!
Thanks Carol from the bottom of all of our hearts here, for hosting
the "Hearts on Fire" hop.
(and making me clean up my room)
A big "thanks"  to
for helping make it all happen!

Make sure you visit my fellow bloggers, and see what's
burning in their hearts this week!

My 2021 Stitching Resolution

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye...
Yep, that's the song running through my head for this Covid infested year.
I'm ready for a new year and a new attitude!
Carla from "Creatin' in the Sticks" is helping us all refocus our energies and come up with a plan.
Making new stitching resolutions.
That is one New Year's resolution, I just might be able to stick with, for a change.
LOL!!!!

               1. Scrap bust...it's time to dump the junk again.
             2. Tackle those 3 totes of UFO's/use em or
loose em!
            3.  Have fun with the 2021 Cackling Stitches
BOM.
You can join our Facebook group HERE and join
in, on this free BOM starting in March too!

I've had a great time with my 365 Silly Holiday blocks this year, but "whew" that kept me busy.
This year my resolution is to have many less commitments and spend more time working on "ME" projects. Well, me and my little sweet pea I'm sure.

Time just wasn't there for me this year, but I did manage to get a sampler done
 for Sweet Peas parents.
Remember that poem I wrote to go along with "Sweet Pea's" race car quilt?
Brenda from "Songbird Designs", digitized not only the poem, but also the race car quilts. It stitched out beautifully, on my embroidery machine and Hobby Lobby did a wonderful job of framing it.
If you ever need anything digitized, check out "Songbird Designs".
I've just over the top thrilled with the job she did.
Thank you from the bottom on my heart, Brenda!
These are little 2020 Christmas gifts, for our Christmas Eve game night.
We love playing the Saran Wrap game and we up the ante, with silly gifts.
Dollar store plungers and antlers, toilet paper, clipart eyes I found online, and a pom pom nose.
Now that's the gift that keeps on giving!
Pardon my humor. LOL!!

Lastly, while cleaning out the closets, I found "yet" more uniform pieces from before I retired.
So I decided to deconstruct them and re-purpose them into a memory bear.
Thanks to "Funky Friends Factory", with the perfect "Memory bear" pattern.
My United Airline uniforms are now a true memory.
I had just enough fabric left to make a two more, so a couple of my friends got a bear for Christmas too.
Let just say, there were tears. I think they liked em!
It's always fun, when I can make someone cry.

Please visit all my blogging buddies and see what their resolutions are for 2021

Happy New Year to all of you.
Praying for a better year ahead!

Jingle Jolly Holiday ...

It certainly was a jingle jolly holiday here, thanks to "Crafters Edge".

They sent "Santa" over, with these goodies.
Just look at all these dies I get to play with!
And the entire alphabet...
Oh, I feel like I'm dreaming here.

Check out their Crossover II Cutting System
Great for both fabric and paper!

And my favorite part...you can adjust the tension for whatever your cutting.

I love this die cutting system, because it has a much smaller footprint that some of the competition.
There is just so much room an "elf " has in her sewing room for storage!
LOL!!

You will be seeing lots of fun new projects throughout the year, thanks to

I do say, 2021 is looking good!
