Waiting for Spring

While the thermometer is not co-operating, you can always make your spring time come to life if fabric. I decided to play around with scraps and Art to Heart's, Cider Hill book to come up with this springy little twin quilt.  It was truly a fun little project to work on, up until the quilting that is. For whatever reason my longarm decided it was NOT going to quilt this one, and it fought me for hours. What should have been done in 2 hours took 9 and a lot of ripping and sour words! In hind sight I should have turned it off and walked away, but I was bound and determine to show it who was boss. And the answer was - the machine of course! Darn machines, I hate it when they win!  :-)

I am looking forward to next week when I have a Mystery class with Mark Lipinski. My fabrics are nicely starched and cut. Just waiting for the big day. All I know is we are going to have fun with curves!

Whip up a springy project for yourself, you will be amazed at how great it feels. I am going to be looking for another one, as a snow storm is approaching! Ahhhh the joys of winter!

  1. I love this! What lovely Spring colors. Thanks for sharing

  2. I took a mystery quilt class at MQX last year with Mark. Prepare to laugh all day long! He is so funny! By the end of the class he'll know everyone's name and what they do, and he'll talk about his family. Have a blast!

  3. Oh..I LOVE this quilt!

I followed a link over from the Quilting Bloggers winter fun contest..your entry made me laugh! I'd love to know the info on it!

  4. Good grief did I spell check my post before I posted? Spring not Soring. All fixed now. I really am literate some days! :-)

  5. I'm so impressed that you were able to put this beautiful little quilt together so quickly -- you're talented, my friend! Great colors -- and I love the pillow!

  6. I usually make a bunch of scrap pieces and then wish I could make something out of it. This is a great idea
