Cackling Stitches BOM - July

 It's the big finish.

For those who have been working on our Cackling Stitches BOM for 2022,
the wait is over!

Carol has posted the final pattern for the borders on our Cackling Stitches Group Facebook page.
We are excited to announce that we are actually running ahead of schedule and decided it was best for everyone to have the complete pattern a couple of months early.

Here's how the BOM works. It's a Facebook group free block of the month, that runs from February 1 to  Aug 30 July 31. On the first day of the each month, we will release block patterns that will be free until the next months block(s) is released. Once new blocks are released, the previous month's block(s) will no longer be free. They will be available in our Etsy stores at a cost of $2.

On September  July 1st the entire pattern will be combined and sold in our Etsy stores for $10. For those of  you who have collected the patterns throughout the BOM, the final border is free for the month of July and can be found on our Facebook page. There will be no need to purchase the entire pattern.

We hope you appreciate the time we put into creating this BOM quilt and understand that we are keeping the costs to a minimum. If you are quick to get the patterns during the month they are released, they are free and there would be no cost to you. As always we ask that you do not share the pattern. You can direct your friends to the "Cackling Stitches Group" on Facebook

Here Comes the Sun Blog Hop

"Let the Sunshine In"

I have to admit I was at a loss for this hop. I just didn't have any idea what I was going to do, until my friend Joi, brought me a charm pack she had, had in her stash for awhile. Seeing the fun prints and bright colors was just the inspiration I needed.

Once again, I surfed clip-art online, and found this sweet little sun for the center to bring it all together.

Digging thru my stash, I found a backing fabric that was perfect. Not only was it wildly bright, but it was the exact size I needed. What are those odds? LOL!!

I finally got my "mo-jo" back after working on this. As I was stitching the last of the binding down, I remembered a pattern I had bought a few years ago.
The timing was tight, but "Sweet Pea" was a trooper at entertaining herself long enough for...

..."Beach Bums" or as I like to refer to it "Beach Buns" to come to life!
The pattern, from Hoffman Fabrics can be found HERE.
What speaks more of the "sun" than a bunch of old lady butts hanging out at the beach?
Let's face it, I could be any one of these ole broads...

But butt there's something about this one with the tatoo.
LOL!!
Dare I ask, what butt do you identify with?

Regardless, all butts are welcome to hang out at the ole car pond with me!

Be it butts or be it sunshine in you neighborhood. I wish you all a great summer.
A big shout out to Carol for hosting this hop! When else could I even dream of posting my butt online!

Please visit my fellow bloggers today

Don't forget next month is our "UFO" blog hop.
If you want to play along and haven't signed up yet, drop me an email...
I need your name, your blog name, the URL for your blog and your email address.
Let me know if there is a particular date that works best for you as well. I try to accommodate, if I can.
If you would put UFO BLOG HOP in the subject line, that would be awesome as well.
Signups for Carla's "See Ya Later Alligator Hop" will start July 1.

Berry Baskets with Thermoweb

It's berry season again, my most favorite part of the year.
I love my berries, no matter if they are straw, blue, black or rasp!
LOL!!

These little baskets make for such fun ways to serve them, or even collect them in, if your lucky enough to live where berries grow. Not so much for me. Mine come from the grocery store.

along with your favorite fabrics, you can whip up these baskets in no time.

For a little extra protection, you can waterproof them, as well, with
You know I've sung many praises over Liquid Vinyl before.
I just can't believe how easy it is to use and how great it works!

These fun little baskets are not just for berries...the pattern includes a diagram you can use,
to make any size of basket you like.

How about a little basket and pencil holder set?
I'm always looking for those "mini" size patterns.
They seem to get lost in the clutter, in my sewing room. Now that problem is solved.

In playing around with height and width and came up with this cute pencil cup. Oh wouldn't that make for a great gift, with a bud vase of flowers in it, too?

You can download the free pattern over on the Thermoweb blog
Enjoy!

Toucan Tote with Thermoweb

We have Hopscotched on Toucan Watch, ringed letters and numbers in Toucan Toss, played Tic-Tac-Toe and Toucan Cornhole. Now this "Toucan Tote" bag has plenty of room for the rings and bean bags we have collected, along with the reversible activity mat and extra snacks to take along.

If you have been following my Jungle Theme "Toucan" projects you've likely seen this reversible quilt.
Now, using the leftover fabrics from this 2-sided quilt, you should have plenty to make this tote bag.
All fabric requirements are included in the free pattern for you.
Combined with these Thermoweb products you will have a sturdy tote bag that's easy to make.

 HeatNBond®Fusible Fleece

HeatNBond EZ Print Lite or HeatNBond®Lite

 HeatNBond Non-Woven Craft Fusible X-Firm 60” wide

I Craft Fabric Fuse Liquid Adhesive is a great way to add the handles to this bag, by keeping them straight and fused to the bag allowing you to stitch without pins. Once you get the handles placed where needed just run a bead of the adhesive down the back side of the handle and let dry for a few minutes.

SprayNBond®Basting Adhesive holds the layers of your bag front and lining together nicely, to aid in quilting each piece.

There are plenty of tips, tricks and photos in the free pattern.
Hop on over to the "Thermoweb" blog HERE and get your pattern today!

Cackling Stitches June BOM

Carol at "Just Let Me Quilt" worked double duty this month, to bring us 2  not so creepy characters to the Cackling Stitches 2022 BOM.

Skully with his eyeball yo-yo.
