A Time For All Seasons BOM-March

March...
Something you tell your kids, when you want them to move.
Something a band does.
Or in my case... the time we start to celebrate.
My youngest son's birthday, is on Saint Patrick's day.
While he will likely be tipping a beer someplace on March 17,
I prefer to celebrate in a much different way.
Yep, I'm officially old, and a big blowout celebration means
that I've just completed a "quilty" project of some kind!
Best yet...being this old means I don't even have to explain
or make excuses for myself.
I'm not sure if Carol, over at "Just Let me Quilt" feels the same way...
but her blocks this month tell me she might.
LOL!!!
So get your St. Patty's face on, and add this to your "Time For All Seasons".
You can find the pattern
HERE
It is free for the month of March,
after that it will be available for a small charge.

Don't forget to share it on our Facebook page
HERE
We have sponsors who are providing fabulous monthly prizes.
This year, my blocks are from my stash of "Island Batik" fabrics.
Happy dance, happy dance!
I just love those batiks!

Here is the schedule for this year...
February
March
April
May
June
July
August
September
October
November
December
January

Hey...any body ever hear of green wine?
Just wonderin'
LOL!

Are You Ready for some Sunshine?

I don't know about you...but I am over winter.
Last night we got almost a foot, of the white stuff.
Uggggh. I am so ready, for it to be spring.

Since the calendar isn't being all that cooperative right now...
I turned to some fun stitching.
I grabbed up some of my "Island Batik" scraps and stash and went to work.
Are these just the cutest little mug rugs?
They came from a new book "Springtime Quilts" that "Annie's Craft Store" has to offer.
Oh my goodness, what great projects are in this down loadable book.
Everyone of them makes those winter blues disappear.
(There is a link below you can use to purchase this book if your interested)

You may have noticed some changes on my blog lately.
This is year number 11 in blog-land for me. To celebrate,
I purchased my domain name.
Yes, those moose boys are doing the happy dance, over "MooseStashQuilting
being all theirs now!
LOL!
My "Facebook" page has turned into a business page.
No more having to "friend" me to see what I'm up to.
You can just "Like" my page now to see my latest "quilty" related posts.
My "Pinterest" page is also a business page and much nicer to see than before.
The social media links on the right hand side bar have been updated for you.

I've made the decision to become an affiliate,
for some of the companies who's products I love and use.

What does that mean for you?
If you purchase something, on "some" of the links I provide,
I will get a small commission on the sale.
It will not cost you any more, than if you purchased it directly on their website.
But it helps me defray the costs of keeping this blog running.
By clicking on these links, you do not automatically purchase anything.
It's like anyplace else, you can see more on it, and decide for your self if your interested.

I have updated my "Disclosure" statement

You can be sure, I will always advise you when there is an affiliate link in my post.
You won't see me suggesting anything I don't use and love myself.
That...you have my word on!
Oh...and you will be seeing a lot more of "Annie's" wonderful patterns here.
Quilting, card making, knitting, crochet...they have it all.
I've long been a fan!
:-)
So, while I enjoy a little cuppa with my new mug rugs...
you can take a peek at the other fabulous projects this book has to offer.

Show Your Wings Blog Hop

Carol is the blog hop "Queen".
She really knows how to entice us with her fabulous ideas.
Wings...
I see airplanes, and helicopters (that have no wings, now that I think about it).
Then there are butterfly's and dragonfly's,
bees and bats!
What about birds and pterodactyls...you know flying dinosaurs!
Well, maybe they are just from my lifetime.
LOL!!!

Two days ago I participated in the "Dust off a Quilt Book" blog hop,
where we pulled an old book off the shelf and made something.
"Sew" for this hop, I went to my computer...
(the other place that has more patterns on it, than my lifetime allows for sewing)
and started searching.
Yep...there it was from 2009.
A "BOM" that never happened, from one of my favorite designers
Angie Padilla, from "Angie's Bits 'n Pieces".
I've been a member of her group since 2009???
Whew, how time fly's...and without wings it "seams"
LOL!!
"Heavenly Angels"
Here it is in all it's glory!
I have to say...it was no easy task.
There were so many different techniques in this quilt.
It was a challenge at times, but I persevered and glad I did.
You may have remembered me showing you these blocks with all Y-seams earlier
Yep...if you ever feel like your getting to big for your own pants...
it just takes a Y-seam to knock you back to reality!
hahahahahaha
But when I look at blocks like this...
It was so worth while.

So many adorable Angels flying around...it's hard to choose a favorite.
There was applique and piecing, some paper pieced blocks...
and the entire saw tooth border was paper pieced.
All the blocks were different sizes and fit together like a puzzle,
which was so much fun.
This entire quilt came out of my stash,
with the exception of having to buy a couple fat quarters of yellow.
That was just not a color I had much of on hand.
It always makes me happy when I manage to do a little stash busting!
So, thank you Carol for that. If you keep these hops up for long, I just might
get thru some of what I have collected in, this lifetime.
If not, I guess there is always next lifetime!
LOL!!
It's now hanging in my quilt room and makes me feel happy every time I see it!
Please visit my fellow bloggers and see what wing-ed things they have dreamed up.
I know you'll be in for a treat.

Dust Off a Quilt Book Blog Hop

Well now...I have Bea to thank, for making me clean up my sewing room.
When she suggested this hop, I was all for it...
until I realized what I mess I had!
Books were piled everywhere and getting to the bookcase,
was a disaster in the making!
The shelves were a mess...
But after a day of cleaning and sorting...
There's even a path to that bookcase now...let the fun begin.
Quilt Book Roulette!
Round and round and round she goes...where she stops...
Oh, this is a good one.
And, it's been on that shelf for years!
This book has you piece your background, then add appliques on top.
I pulled out my hand dyes, and went to work.
It's a terrible photo...
The colors are much brighter...but I will talk about that later.
Then flowers and leaves...

and these big gorgeous blooms!
Made for a garden that commands attention, from all of the room.
I can't believe this book sat on the shelf for so many years.
I got to play a little with "thread painting", which was a blast!
I mentioned the color of my background...
and I know you can see a big difference in my photos.
In the midst of this, I bought a light setup.
It makes me laugh, it's so professional looking... for me anyway!
It really is amazing how much difference good lighting can make.
There is going to be a learning curve I'm sure, but I'm liking things so far.
No more playing with the colors in my photo program.
YAY!!
I'm "sew" glad that Bea helped me find this great book in my stash.
It isn't going back on that shelf anytime soon.
There are some really fun things I just have to try!

NOW...
in that process of cleaning off my shelves...
I am re-homing a few things, I know I won't use again.
The "Creative Expressions" is a Jenny Haskins machine embroidery magazine from Australia.
It is a complete set from Volume 1-28.
They ranged from $9 to $12 while they were available here in the USA.
If you are interested in this "set" please contact me,
Calicojoan@aol.com
and we can negotiate.
For the other 2 books...just pay the postage is all I ask.
First come...first serve on these 2.
;-)
I have a feeling this is going to be a use it, or loose it year.
So keep an eye out...you never know when I've got something else,
 that needs a new home.
Up to and including kids, pets, hubby...(just kidding)!
But once I get thru all these books.....

Make sure you visit my fellow blogger, and see what they have to share.

There is nothing I love more, than getting a fun little projects out of my scraps.
