It's a Wild Life BOM

April 1st is usually a day of pranks, but with it being Easter.
I'm guessing they should be put on the back burner this year.
Of course I have watched all the pranks
you can pull on your kids for Easter.
All I can say is, it's a good thing my kids are big now. Or they would be biting into chocolate covered brussel sprouts and cracking open raw eggs. :-)
Yeah, I'm that kind of mom!
LOL!!!!!
No pranks here though, as our new blocks for "It's a Wild Life BOM" are up,
a day early so you can spend Easter Sunday with your family tomorrow.
This month Carol over at "Just Let Me Quilt"
is bringing us not 1, but 2 blocks.
I guess that really is a little April fools surprise, for us all!
That little bunny and birdie are a perfect for Easter.
You can find the pattern
Remember it's free for the month of April only. After that there will be a small charge.
Here's what we have so far, and I'm loving it!
Your going to love what's coming up too.
Let's just say, I've had a sneak peek at blocks to come,
and they are just too cute for words!
;-)
Amy over at "Sew Incredibly Crazy"
is posting the monthly links, if you miss something.
Don't forget there are prizes for those who complete the blocks as shown.
All of us on the Sew Incredibly design team appreciate seeing our blocks come to life,
and we love seeing the little enhancements you each make to your blocks.
That being said, please try to make your block as close to the design as possible.
We have worked very hard to design blocks that work well together
and will bring the "Wild Life" theme to life.
We don't want any disappointments with your quilt, from not following
along with our design.
(wink wink)
Please visit and share your block on our Facebook page.

Wishing you a very Happy Easter.

February wrap up with Island Batik

I need to start out with an apology, for being so late with this post.
I have no idea just where time seems to run off to!
LOL!!
It's a new year and we have lots of new Island Batik Ambassadors,
who have brought us, tons of inspiration.
Our first challenge of the year ...
Mini Love!
We all love mini's, now don't we?
They are a great way to use up scraps.
They make for quick little projects.
 All these gorgeous little minis...
make me want to start stitching more, more more.
Every year, our new ambassadors bring more inspiration to the table.
Their creativity never fails to amaze me!
This year promises to be the best yet!

Here are the links for all the beautiful projects above.
Please visit my fellow ambassadors and give a little "LOVE" on their creations!

Quilt Qwazy Queens Blog Hop

It's a party and we are all celebrating "International Quilting Day" by showing off
 and finishing up our UFO's.
Oh they are not the flying kind...
It's the kind that we have stashed in our sewing rooms.
Those drat-ed unfinished objects we hide from ourselves.
What better way to celebrate the day, than getting them done!
I'm ashamed to say, my pile is so big...
bins and bags, and totes and shelves...
You've seen them here before, and I can't bare to share them again.
LOL!!
I'm happy to say, dug thru my PIGS (projects in grocery sacks)
and went right to work.
First finish is my Amy Butler camper quilt.
I started this 2 years ago at a quilt retreat.
Seeing these campers come together, kept us in stitches for 4 days.
before they went into that dreaded grocery sack!
Amy's pattern had 8 different campers in it.

Each with so many different fun details.

I wanted to use mine in my camper, so I wanted it bigger.
A game plan to add in 4 additional "holiday" theme campers was hatched.

Combing thru my novelty prints
I was able to add elements
To bring each of them to life.
Oh, what fun it is to play.
LOL!!!
Topping off my quilt, is the the whole "fam-damily"!
HAHAHA
Tell me I'm not the only one!
(just kidding family)
;-)
This quilt is made on denim for extra warmth.
I don't know if you have ever made a denim quilt,
but they are incredibly durable and very warm. Perfect for the camping life.
Along with that, comes a considerable amount of added weight.
I've found a QAYG (quilt as you go) method works best for me, when using denim.
Additionally, I finished up this quilt.
I shared my progress during Marians
"Enter if U Dare" Halloween blog hop.
Yes, Marian...it's finished and I LOVE it!
Heck, now I'm a bit motivated to finish more...
:-)
A big thanks to Studio 180 for today's great give away.

Happy St.Patty's Day!

I do have to laugh when I think about the fact that St. Patrick's day,
is a day that honors "St. Patrick", one of Ireland's patron saints.
It's thought that he passed away in the year 493.
I wonder if he ever saw this day,
turning into the crazy fun celebration that it has become.
Somehow I just don't see him ponying up to the bar, to order green beer,
with silly shamrock glasses on his face.
:-)
Chicago, dyes its river green.
Denver, has a big parade and green bagels are the rage.
What St Patty's fun does your city have?

For me...it's all about these silly Leprechaun Pant treat bags!
I can pass of the beer and I've never heard of green wine!
Darn it.
Just fill up these pants with chocolate and I'm a happy girl.
My treat bag sits on a field of shamrocks...
Yes, that is an "Island Batik" fabric.
Perfect for the day.

You can find the pattern for these fun Leprechaun Pants
Oh, and there is also a bunny pants treat bag,
and Easter is only a couple of weeks away!
;-)
Maybe you can fill his pants with these delights!
These are Thin Mints!
Not the Girl Scout kind, but a very close runner up.
These are made with "Ritz"crackers and almond bark.
Almond bark melts and covers much better than chocolate chips
or the Wilton Melts, and it comes in white, light or dark chocolate.

Just melt 1 package of almond bark in a double boiler on the stove,
mix in 1-1/2 teaspoons of peppermint extract.
You can add food coloring at this point if you like.
Cover your "Ritz" crackers and let dry on wax paper.
I use a fork to do this. It helps with shaking off the excess.
I found these green candy shreds in the Wilton department at Wal-Mart.
They have all different kinds of fun things you can sprinkle on top, to jazz them up.

The recipe was shared during the virtual cookie exchange blog hop.
Unfortunately, I can't remember just who it was who shared it, but they are awesome!!!!!
I do apologize for not being able to give credit where credit is due.
Let me know, and I will update this post!

Come back and visit me on Monday!
It's my day for the Quilt Qwazy Queens blog hop, where we are sharing our UFO's
for International Quilt Day.

Gnome for the Holidays Block 2

I am absolutely loving this free BOM  from Fat Cat Patterns.
Here is my block 2.

If you remember last month, I said I had a game plan...
yes, I'm happy to report that it's working for me so far.
LOL!!
Having my fabrics pulled, makes for half the work.
It's those decisions on fabric that slow me down!
Is this just the cutest pattern?
You can find it

Snow Hearts - March

If you remember last month, I stepped up and decided to get those patterns
 out of my computer and...
get er done as they say!
LOL!
I'm joining my Aussie friends in showing off a new Bunny Hill Snow Heart
 each month this year.
Here is March
Have you every heard that saying "in like a lion, out like a lamb"?
To me, it's a March weather-ism... but I found some interesting folk lore...
Check out what by online buddies have done with their snow hearts.
We are each going a completely different direction with them. It's "sew" fun!
Karen from "Sunburnt Quilts"
Shez from "I am"
Have you make up these guys yet? Join in on the fun and show off yours too.
Let me know and I'll add in your link!!!!
