We have 3 hops left this year and are excited to see all the projects from our favorite time of the year.
As for 2025...
It's been a hard decision, but Carol and I have talked extensively and decided that it is time to pull the plug on blog hops. We have both seen the trend in readership dropping over the past few years. There just doesn't seem to be the traffic to our posts or interaction with comments that we saw a few years back.
Life changes and I get it. Blog hops are all I post anymore and I don't have the time to read other blogs, either. I'm getting old and my grandies are balls of energy. When they go home at night, I go to bed! LOL!!
It's been a joy hosting the hops with all of you. You have inspired me with your creativity and talent, more than you will ever know. Hopefully someone with host a hop from time to time that I can jump in and play on. (hint hint) Cause who the heck am I going to mess with if it's not Carol, my partner in crime?😄😄😄😄
While it's not goodbye by any means...this really seemed so fitting.
This golden girl has made the best friends the internet holds and I thank you!
Our September blog hop was a big success, thanks to all our wonderful bloggers. They really are the best of the best! I do hope it inspired you to "Bee Kind' to others. The world is a hard place right now and we all need a little kindness.
November is rapidly approaching and we start thinking about being Thankful.
Without further ado our new hop is...
Challenge: To “Gnome”
them is to love them! Throw a little Thanksgiving twist into your “Gnomie”
project! Or anything that shows your thankful!
Drop me an email, if you want to play along!
And we will see you next month at
Remember a little Kindness and Thankfulness, goes a long way!
I'm so excited about this hop. There is nothing more fun that sharing a little kindness with each other, especially in the times we are living in. So grab your fuzzy slippers and cuppa, kick back and enjoy the posts this week.
My project is Nancy Halvorsen's "Be Attitudes" quilt. I have had the book for a very long time. It was time to pull it off the shelf and blow the dust off of it.
Her quilt is done in dark colors and I have always loved it, but I had a bag of strips of leftover fabrics that was overflowing, so I decided to make it more of a grab, what I have and see where it takes me, kind of quilt. I did make an effort to try to keep like fabrics apart from each other and sort of co-ordinate the block fabrics, but it didn't always work out that way.
Here are the blocks and their special "Be" messages...
I have to be honest, when I was piecing the background blocks and putting them up on the design wall, it looked horrible. I came really close to throwing it all away, but...
I decided to take the leap and just see what happened when the appliques went on them.
I couldn't believe what a difference that made.
There were hiccups...I really need to learn to read first and not just jump in and start things. I thought I was so smart scanning the pages and reversing them on the printer. I traced, fused and cut out all the block pieces before I realized the pattern had already been reversed for me.
Eye roll here!
That made a bit of a challenge for placing the words...but
...in the end, it really became a "Joyful" quilt.
Next up...
This is "Bee Grateful" designed by Lisa Capen Quilts
What a fun project to do and I finally put my favorite piece of snow dyed fabric to use.
Check out her YouTube video and link for the free pattern
Lastly...I've been working on kennel quilts the past couple of weeks.
The little quilt club I belong to, has been making these for years.
I'm doing the happy dance with 108 quilts, quilted and ready to deliver to animal shelters in need. In fact, 36 of those quilts went to California and Nevada to help with the animals that have been effected by the wild fires, already.
I went on a mission to clean up all the old fabric I have stashed in every corner of this place and make a few puppies and kitty's happy, too.
The paper pieced star quilt is a leftover block and probably the fanciest kennel quilt, this girl will ever make. LOL!!
Got scraps and want to warm a little furry friends heart?
We are just a week away from the September blog hop, and it's a very special one.
We are focusing on the kinder side of life.
We are sharing our "kind" projects, favorite charity project, a
free pattern or anything that shows we spread a little kindness,
everywhere we go. Of course Bee projects of all kinds fit right in there too!
A big thanks to all the bloggers who participated in the "It's a Jungle" blog hop. While the jungle hop days have come to an end, that means there are new hops to look forward to.
Coming up next month ...
Challenge:
September
is the time to remember that a little kindness goes a long way. Share your “kind”
projects. Your favorite charity project, a free online pattern or anything that
shows you spread a little kindness, everywhere you go. But that's not all, anything with a bee on it fits this challenge!
And our FA-BOO-LOUS Carol, just announced her October hop!
Need we say anymore about this hop?
You all know the challenge here!
tee-hee-hee or should I say ooooo-haaaaa-haaaaa?

I have to apologize to everyone. I just discovered yesterday that my phone has not been downloading Gmail emails, for a month now. (eye roll)
After I finished my freak out...I reset my password, a zillion emails come through.
If it wasn't for the fact that I was wondering why I hadn't gotten any comments from the hop, I might never have figured it out. LOL!!
I don't think any of the responses I sent last month went through either. So it you were waiting for my reply, that is why. You should all be getting ones from this hop.
On to bigger and better things today...
Please visit these fabulous bloggers and leave them a sweet "Jungle" comment, to show your love!
