Which Way to Witchville BOM - July

This month the answer to "Wicked Witch" or 'Wacky Witch' has been answered, and our witches are ridin' into "Witchville" on their brooms!  My favorite mode of transportation!

"Scream and Stitch"
(Pattern for add on's are included if you choose to use them)
It can be found in my Etsy shop now
Wanda's Wicked Broom
From Carol at "Just Let Me Quilt"

Rose's Ride
From Carla at "Creatin' in the Sticks"

You can also find the download for these patterns on our Cackling Stitches Facebook group page
You will find it at the top of the page in the Featured Posts tab.

This BOM runs from Jan 1st through September 30th. As with years past, on the first day of each month, we will release block patterns on our Facebook group page, that will be free for that calendar month. They will then go into our individual ETSY shops, where you can purchase them for $2 each block.  We have had emails and fielded many questions, so what is "new" this year, is that the entire pattern is now available in each of our ETSY shops for $15.  You no longer have to wait until it's over, to be able to purchase the pattern. It's also an option for those of "us" who just can't wait for the next months release. LOL!!

We hope you appreciate the time we put into creating this BOM and understand that we are keeping the costs to a minimum for you. We ask that you respect our copyrights and do not share this pattern. Your welcome to direct your friends to our Cackling Stitches Group Facebook page HERE, or any of our blogs and Etsy shops

What's Your Craziest Quilting Project?

Have you ever started something that you found yourself asking,
 am I "Crazy" or what?

Do you have a project or technique, that you are "Crazy" in love with?

Got a "Crazy" story about a project to share?

Well, we have a blog hop for you!

We all know that crazy and scary feeling of wondering what we were thinking, when we started or were in the middle of sewing something out of our comfort zone.
Now's the time to share them with us all!
It always make me feel better, knowing I'm not truly the only crazy person out there!

The rules are simple, make your project, write a post and have it scheduled to publish by midnight EST, the day your scheduled.
Then sit back and enjoy sharing and commenting, during the blog hop.

If you want to play along send me your name, your blog name, your blog address and a date preference, if you have one.

Carol from "Just Let Me Quilt" and I host "challenge hops" monthly.
You can download a printable schedule of the remainder of this years challenges

July -  Carol is hosting

Anything picnic goes... baskets, totes, etc.
A square quilt 50" x 50" is a standard picnic size.

If your interested contact Carol ASAP, a few spots are still available.

When Pigs Fly June Challenge Blog Hop Day 4 in Review

So many flying pigs that we almost have to "duck" when they whizzzzz by.
LOL!!
I am loving how everyone has risen up to the occasion.

  • Carol really rose up with her 6 finishes. Wow, wow, wow. Now that's going to town! They are all great, but well...those Ghastlies have my heart, for sure.
  • Karrin has been busy finishing up 3 projects and has another one out of hiding. I am in love with her "Blessings" quilt she is working on.
  • Julia shared a fun Avatar runner with us and a really cool Pixel quilt the a terry cloth backing. Perfect for the beach!
  • Sharon shared her system to not have a ton of PIGS laying around. She has a strict 2 year policy...finish it or pass it along. I applaud her for her organization and commitment.
  • Moira has tackled repairing an old antique quilt that her great grand mother made. What an undertaking. I bow down to you! She is also finishing up a nice top she found at a second hand store, so she can donate it. What labors of love!
Yes, our bloggers have met the challenge this month, with all their projects.
A big thanks to all of you who participated this month.
Now we all have room for the next challenges in our sewing rooms!
LOL!!

Carol will be hosting "Picnic Party" next month.

I will be back with "Call Me Crazy" in  August.

Just a reminder, we have a downloadable list of the challenges for the rest of the year, with all the information you need to sign up for them. HERE
Come on and enjoy the fun with us!
We love meeting new friends.

When Pigs Fly June Challenge Blog Hop Day 3 in Review

I got a kick out of Raewyn's (from New Zealand) description of projects not finished. They refer to grocery sacks as supermarket bags, which make them PISB's.
or cardboard boxes PICB's.  Joy (from Australia) also refereed to them as PIGB's Projects in grocery bags! I'm sure some one can come up with some catchy phrase for these acronyms! LOL!!
I don't know about where you all live, but they got rid of grocery bags here this year. Now we have to bring our own, or pay 10 cents for a flimsy store one.
I didn't think I would ever remember to take them out of my car and into the store, but I'm getting there, finally.

Our bloggers today, did not disappoint.

  • Bea made the cutest little piggy pouch and took us on a tour of her sewing room. She is really organized....I should learn to take a page out of her book. LOL!!
  • Sandie's post was not only a great finish, but perfect for the upcoming 4th of July, here in the USA. She shared a binding tool that I think is a must in my sewing room, after watching this YouTube video ...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxUZiryM-yI
  • Joy shared the sweetest little stitchery (also the oldest, staring at her on her design wall) Oh can we identify with that, right?
  • Elizabeth delighted us with the sweetest tray of cheese and crackers this morning. She is definitely the queen of wool felt projects. I absolutely love this one and her little piggy, too!
  • Linda finished a beautiful Christmas cross stitch table topper and has a SAL(stitch along) quilt on her longarm. Whoop whoop!
Tomorrow these bloggers will be showing their finishes, and ending this challenge with a bang!
Be sure to check them out!

When Pigs Fly June Challenge Blog Hop Day 2 In Review

We had more projects see the light of day, today.
It's always such a good feeling to know that we have finally finished something that's been hiding in bags, boxes, totes and corners for so long.

  • Leah shared her beauty that's been hiding in the closet for awhile. It really sings!
  • Sharon & Susan, collectively our Ms P Design team, once again delighted us with their adorable pig applique designs. Sharon finished a beautiful Mariner Star quilt, too.
  • Selena has been busy finishing a memory star quilt, bowl cozies and a cool Kawandi project.
  • Charlene took us down "Beatnik" memory lane with her awesome finish of a Tiki quilt. The fun clipart in her post makes me want to design something new to stitch. LOL!
  • Raewyn at "Stitching Farm Girl" has had some technical difficulties. She is in New Zealand and emailed me early this morning. There is quite a time change between them and the USA, so make sure you stop by later today or tomorrow and visit her blog. https://stitchingfarmgirl.blogspot.com/
  • Michelle delighted is with her finish of her "Blessing of Summer" quilt. The 3-D embellishments are such a sweet addition.
Tomorrow these fabulous bloggers will be sharing their finishes.

You don't want to miss any of them.

When Pigs Fly June Challenge Blog Hop Day 1 in Review

What a great start to our June challenge today!

Along with my projects...
  • Gail shared her gorgeous Nutcracker quilt with  us and has me wanting to pull my Helen Goddard patterns I have saved, out of my computer.
  • Brenda had a beautiful "color challenge" quilt in her unfinished projects stash. She really breathed life into it with her fabulous quilting.
  • Carol shared 3 incredible finishes with us. One of them a double wedding ring quilt. I have always been afraid to try one of them, but she just might have given me that push I need, to give it a whirl.
  • Beth gave me a good laugh this morning, with her comment about oinking pigs and noise ordinances! Oh how I can relate!  She delighted us with a quilt she made from a bag of gifted fabrics and blocks. All I can say is wow, wow, wow...you got a great gift and turned it into a  spectacular quilt!
  • Kris shared a way to make binding those UFO's easy. I don't know about you, but some times I fall down when it comes to actually finish sewing the binding down.
It looks like along with some fabulous finishes, some stash was busted and some space was make in everyone's sewing room. Now that's a win-win, in my book!

Tomorrow we have 6 more bloggers, challenging us with their finishes...
