December wild life

Can you believe there are only 25 more days till Christmas!
I do hope your ready for it, cause I'm not at all.
I'm still trying to figure out where the year went in such a hurry.
About the only thing I am caught up on is my "Wild Life" BOM.
LOL!!
Amy really knocked it out of the ball park with this block.
This little bandit eating a chocolate chip cookie just makes me laugh.
I added an additional birdie from Carla's March block,
flying in the opposite direction, just because!
Finally, we get to start stitching things together!
Happy dance, happy dance.
Are you just loving it?
I braved the cold to get photos outside in good light, to show how these
 batiks really make things sing!
Lighting makes all the difference in the world, doesn't it?
Some of you may have noticed that I changed up my leaves and bear paw block.
Once I layed out everything, I decided to change out some colors on those blocks.
I was so excited to get this stitched together, that I completely forgot to take
photos of the new blocks.
LOL!!
As you can see, there is just 1 more row to be added to the bottom next month.
That will wrap up this year of "Wild" fun.
A big thank you to "Island Batik" for providing me
with these gorgeous fabrics for this hop.
They are from their Basic and Blenders collections, and are available all the time!
Have you missed anything?
It's not too late...
For a small fee you can still get these blocks!

Virtual Cookie Exchange Blog Hop

It's that time of the year, when the baker in all of us, come's to life.
Oh that Carol...she  just loves to share the calories with us.
There are some incredibly wonderful bloggers,
all to willing, to join in and share their favorite
goodies for the season...
So, let the hips and thighs start to grow...NOW!
LOL!!
Snowball cookies have long been a family favorite here!
I wanted to share the recipe in a fun way, so
I googled how to make an online recipe card and found "Adobe Spark" website
Is this just the cutest recipe card ever?
I had so much fun playing with all the options.
You know I'm old school, and I get really excited when I stumble on things like this.
Best yet...the free version offers loads of fun things you can make.
Check it out for yourself.

I recently stumbled on another "snowball" recipe on Facebook.
Not being able to find the post a week later...
Google came to my rescue, once again.
While these technically are not "cookies"...what's better than Cheesecake bites?
This is recipe is a google image, that said it was from Pinterest.
I'd love to give credit, but it took me down the rabbit hole,
trying to get to the source.
There are many websites with this same recipe on it. Some with nuts, some not.
I personally made one little change. I added a little powered sugar to the mix.
I love the sweetness it brings out.  It was one of those "dump" things,
so I can't tell you exactly how much, but it was less than 1/4 cup.
Make sure you drain your pineapple extremely well, and push out extra moisture.
I suggest you put the mix, in the freezer a bit before rolling into the balls.
It makes them much easier to work with.
This is how many of these heavenly bites you get from 1 batch.
What perfect little quick and easy dessert for the holidays!

So with 2 snowball choices...the battle for the favorite begins...
...and I'm throwing one at you virtually.
LOL!!
I've got one more issue, to get off my mind!
I don't remember who it was last year, who posted the chocolate mint coated "Ritz"crackers...
But I am holding you personally responsible, for my increased size this year!
Those are absolutely, hands down the best things I've ever eaten.
Who would have guessed?
I can't tell you just how many people have fallen in love with them.
I know I should take responsibility for my own actions, but really!
Who can eat just 1?
Ignorance "WAS" bliss!
You won't want to miss one of the fabulous recipes,
my fellow bloggers have to share.

Cozy Cabins Log Cabin Challenge with Island Batik

Log Cabin quilts.
Now there's a challenge I can really get excited about.
One of my earliest quilts was a log cabin quilt.
Funny enough my youngest pulled it out to use, just last week
and found that it hadn't been completely quilted yet.
Does anyone remember those little tagging guns that shot out red plastic tags?
A quick way of basting a quilt.
There were a bunch of them still left in the quilt.
Considering that was one of my first quilt projects...
those red tags were the least of it's sins!
LOL!!
After searching and thinking...
I pulled out fabrics from the "Check it Out" by Kathy Engle.
This is one of the fabulous new "Island Batik" fall lines.
Here's my fun 44"x 44" version, of a Cozy Log Cabin Quilt.
These checks are so much fun,
that I had to add them to the applique border, just to set it off!

This pattern was inspired from Debbie Kratovil's "Pixie Sticks" pattern that appeared in the March/April "McCalls Quilting" magazine.
It's a web bonus that you can still get for free
happy dance happy dance!
I used a Hobbs Tuscany cotton wool blend batting.
Batting with wool in it, drapes so nicely.

A big thanks to "Island Batik" and "Hobbs",
for providing me the fabrics and batting for this project!

"Pick a Pumpkin" Blog Hop

Don't you just love that "pumpkin" time of the year?
It just warms my heart!
A big thanks to Carla, over at "Creatin' in the Sticks"
for bringing us together, to share the love of the season.

This was a great way for me to "Pick" up a project that I tested for Sharon
over at "Yellow Cat Designs" a year ago.  A whole year??? OMG!
It got lost in my UFO's and somehow managed to never get quilted.
Shame on me...
My humble apologies Sharon.
Who knew that getting it quilted was going to prove to be the easiest of this task?
Taking photos was going to be the real challenge.
Denali, was having none of this stay off it...pleeeeeease!
Here's a quick shot of "In the Pumpkin Patch", finally.
You can find the pattern for this fun quilt
Check out "Yellow Cat Designs" fabulous blog,
you'll be glad you did!
I also made up this cutie from
