Four Seasons Blog Hop

There's nothing more fun than getting to show off  the new lines of
Island Batik fabrics about to hit the shelves!
You know I was doing the happy dance when these arrived on my doorstep.
I knew right away that their "Moose" be a moose in my project!
LOL!!!!
Log Cabin blocks are so versatile.
Playing around with the layout, I was able to build some great spaces for...
...fusible appliques from this book.
It's been on my shelf for a very long time, just waiting for that perfect project.

I tend to get stuck in a box when it comes to quilting.
So this time, I did a little pre-planning.
(I know...say it ain't "sew")
LOL!
I wanted to try something completely new and different from my usual.
So, I started with an online search of a black and white "pinecone" -"free clipart".
The sky really is the limit online. You can find just about anything your looking for
and make it your own, by combining designs, rotating or mirror imaging them.
Then printed it out, on a sticky back water soluble stabilizer.
This roll came from Marathon Thread. It's really a bargain from them,
and I look for them at every sew expo.
Stick it down on the quilt sandwich
and go crazy with free motion stitching.
It's really a lot like thread painting, only with lines to follow.
Once your all done, you wet down your stabilizer and watch the magic happen.
I did a small stipple around my pinecones, to finish off those blocks.
Then combined a variety of different quilting techniques,
on the rest of the quilt. What a fun way to play!

Hope you have enjoyed my little walk on the wild side,
 with "Northern Woods" fabrics.
They will begin shipping in April.
Be sure to visit my friend Vicki
to see what she has created with Northern Woods.
Today is the last day of the hop.
is the full schedule, just in case you missed anything.
;-)
Now, I've got a give away for one of you.
These Island Batik "Stash Builders", are the bomb!
What a great way, to build up variety in your "stash".
Unfortunately postage rates have gone thru the roof.
"Sew"
this give away is open to USA residents only,
unless your willing to pay the international postage.
My winner will be drawn Monday morning Feb 5th.
Good luck to you all!
Island Batik has a fabulous give away too. Click HERE

Rearin' to Go

We took a little family break...
To the Happiest Place on Earth.
One of these racing crazy kids, had a birthday.
It's not where most 36 year olds go I'm sure,
but we couldn't think of a better get away.

Now I'm back, and rearin' to go!

Amy over a "Sew Incredibly Crazy" is once again hosting a free BOM for 2018
It's a "Wild" Life.
Your not going to want to miss this one, if you love the outdoors.
Blocks are free for 1 month only...
So check out the schedule
and mark your calendars!
I've been pulling out my favorite "Island Batik" fabrics...
Scrappy rules, but for those who want to keep the backgrounds the same
(I'm going to do that myself)
You'll need about 4 yards of fabric.

Feb 1st is also my day to share a new line of Island Batik.
Hint Hint...
It's perfect for this quilt!
;-)

"SEW"...
start your engines...
Its about to get crazy!
(fun that is)

Busy Busy Busy...

I know you think I've fallen off the face of the earth...
But that just isn't "sew"
The machine is working at "warp speed" down in the MooseStash.
Feb 1 is my day to post on the Four Seasons blog hop.
Oh, I just can't wait to show you, what's about to hit the shelves in your quilt shops!
Hint hint...you know why I'm just giddy!

Feb 8, I'm gonna share the LOVE.
I'm "sew" excited about this one too!
There's a little something for everyone. Just sayin'
Oh no...I guess you will have to wait to see the rest of it!
:-)

There are new Island Batik Ambassadors and more fun challenges ahead.
To celebrate "International Quilting Day"
the "Quilt Qwazy Queens" are going to be actually finishing their UFO's
and showing them off.
Can I really finish all of mine in "this" lifetime?
April 13th...can't wait to see your reaction!

I'm working away designing blocks for
It's a "Wild" Life!

All this and they want me to fill out this "Census" stuff and do my income taxes.
Does it look like I have time for that kind of "crap"?
LOL!!!!

Table Scraps "Island Batik" Wrap up

What a ride it's been this year with "Island Batik".
The wonderful friends I've made, the fabulous fabrics I've stitched.
But these challenges are the best of all.
We broaden our horizons and expand our quilt styles...
Something, I would likely "not" do on my own.
Table Scraps is our last challenge of the year.
Scrap-busting is a favorite of mine. I love those "freebie" projects.
It really is amazing just how far our fabrics can go some times.
The faster I sew the more scraps there are!
LOL!!

By the looks of it, the same goes for my fellow ambassadors.
Just look what they have done.

You can read up on each any every one of these on the links below.
Quilt'n Party

The "4 Seasons" blog hop is in full swing.

We are showing off the brand new lines, coming soon.
You can find the schedule

Let just say...there's a whole lot of fun goin on!
You won't want to miss it!

Let It Snow, then put a label on it!

There's nothing more fun than seeing children frolicking in the snow
building snowmen.
Children that is...once your my age, that whole frolicking thing...
I'm don't want to scare the bejeebers out of anyone!
HAHAHAHA

No, I personally prefer to stay inside to make my snowmen.
Pat Sloan's Button Club pattern
was perfect for building indoors snowmen.

New Year...new resolution.
I know that its important to document and label your quilts.
Does that mean I do so...
...well, sometimes.
But from now on...
Is this just the cutest label?
It came from the Dutch Label Shop.
This is one of  many of their "basic" label choices.
It's "sew" much fun to build your own label.
With the basics, you get to choose from many of their stock icons,
as well as getting to pick your label color, text color, font, alignment.
Even better, prices start as little as $17 for  30 labels.
Then, there are these custom LOGO labels.
Are they, just too cool?
You can turn anything into a logo.
The moose was a from free clipart online and my Cheerleader logo
is the one that Madame Samm designed years ago.
Again, you can pick all your colors, as well as how the label folds.
I chose to have these fold at the bottom, so I can sew them into seams on top
They offer many different choices.
This little "hang tag" guy is another "free" online clip art find.
Won't he be perfect for on top of quilt sleeves?

What makes Dutch Label Shop different from the rest?
Your in constant communication with them.
For custom labels, they send you emails with photos.
You approve your label before anything is printed.
No surprises when they arrive, accept how wonderful they are!

Treat yourself this year!
Check out their gallery
For some fabulous inspiration.

Til next time...
