Which Way to Witchville BOM - May

May we introduce to you, our next two blocks in our "Witchville" town? Be sure to grab them while they are free this month!

Got shoes that need a little extra love? The "Village Cobbler" is here to help out!

"Beware of Witchville"
Only go there if you dare...

You can also find the download for these patterns on our Cackling Stitches Facebook group page
You will find it at the top of the page in the Featured Posts tab.

This BOM runs from Jan 1st through September 30th. As with years past, on the first day of each month, we will release block patterns on our Facebook group page, that will be free for that calendar month. They will then go into our individual ETSY shops, where you can purchase them for $2 each block.  We have had emails and fielded many questions, so what is "new" this year, is that the entire pattern is now available in each of our ETSY shops for $15.  You no longer have to wait until it's over, to be able to purchase the pattern. It's also an option for those of "us" who just can't wait for the next months release. LOL!!

We hope you appreciate the time we put into creating this BOM and understand that we are keeping the costs to a minimum for you. We ask that you respect our copyrights and do not share this pattern. Your welcome to direct your friends to our Cackling Stitches Group Facebook page HERE, or any of our blogs and Etsy shops

Say What? Challenge Day 4 Wrap Up and a New Challenge...

Yep, us bloggers sure have a lot to say...

  • Carol delighted not only us, but her adorable little granddaughter with a quilt make from a soft book panel. She also shared  a paper piecing project her still can't believe she said yes to. LOL!!
  • Karrin's heartfelt pillow and  framed piece brought a tear to our eyes today. She said so much, with such love. Beautiful work!
  • Sandie was on the case today...pillow case that is! I love how she personalized them.
  • Melisa took us on a trip to her families tobacco farm, with her incredible story of growing up. She hand appliqued and quilted a beautiful piece to remember "life" by.
  • Brenda brought back my memories of days gone by with her Sheep quilt. I love her twist on it. Her coffee mugrug is too cute.
  • Joy created a sweet tote bag, complete with custom pockets to keep her crochet items organized.

This seems to be the best way to wrap up this hop...
I definitely am going to make this into something, because we never stop learning.
We just need to put ourselves out there.
I do hope this hop has inspired everyone to "Be Brave" and try something new.

A big thanks to all my blogging buddies for making "Say What" another wonderful hop.

I am not ready to stop hearing what us quilter have to say.
Because you all really do, brighten up my day!
Please make sure you comment on all the posts from the hop. Our bloggers love hearing from you.

Say What? Challenge Day 3 Wrap Up

Yep, us bloggers sure have a lot to say...

  • Gail delighted us with a fun quilty assortment of memes. But her "What Happens at Quilt Retreat, Stays at Quilt Retreat" wall hanging was the absolute best. She also shared an Iron on quilt label book that has me heading off to find one for myself!
  • Sharon blew my mind today when she talked about her and her guild creating a quilt starting at the borders. What a different way to approach a quilt. It just proves, we never stop learning.
  • Leah shared her crazy quilted project bags with us today and where to find the "Free" pattern. How many of you actually use those decorative stitches on your machine. I seldom use them, but that might have to change.
  • Moira shared her pieced circles and the link to the tutorial that makes them easy. I'm all about the easy way and will definitely be checking that out. She also finished off a beautiful heart mini that carried a huge message!
  • Sharon and Susan, our Ms P Design USA team shared a story of days gone by, when tea parties with friends allowed for story telling. Times may have changed, but their coffee, tea or me lineup of patterns make it easy for us, to stitch up our memories.
  • Kathy shared an adorable quilt for Emerson, along with different ways to incorporate words into our projects. She is the master of free motion writing.
Here's another "wordy" idea saved in my file of things to do...
Hopefully this isn't too off color for you, but it really made me laugh.
Maybe it was all those years, working in customer service at the airport.
There's a lot of stories there for sure!
LOL!!

Tomorrow is the final day of our "Say What?" hop.

Say What?Challenge Day 2 Wrap Up

Yep, us bloggers sure have a lot to say...

  • Julia blew my mind today with her microwave popcorn bag. It was a Say What moment for me. I sure wanted to make popcorn at 5am. LOL!!
  • Carla inspired us all with her inspirational tote. We all need to remind ourselves, just how special we really are!
  • Elizabeth shared the perfect way to start plants for the season with her Bloom mat! She shared the pattern with us as well. You can download it and many of her other beautiful patterns for free until July, so get them while you can! Thanks Elizabeth
  • Charlene, who almost didn't participate because she didn't know what to say, rocked this hop with her emotion quilt and placemats to entice kids to eat their dinner. Even a couple for us bigger kids to not eat so much. LOL!! I know what I am going to be making!:-)
  • Bea made some fun pot holders from selvedges. Her hubby is the king of making pizza on the grill and burned up his potholders. LOL!! I may have dropped the idea of us all being invited over for pizza, on her.
  • Joy made the sweetest little inspirational quiltie! She did an amazing job of free motion writing on it, with her machine, as well! Joy has a wonderful prize give away posted as well, don't miss out!
You girls bowled me over with the incredible projects you had to share today!

Here's another one of my saved ideas. I think this one came from Missouri Star.
This speaks volumes to me!
LOL!!

Were is my mind??? I completely forgot to share our Pinterest board link.
You can check out all the projects from this hop

The fun continues! Tomorrow these bloggers are going to show us what they have to say!
Don't miss out.

Say What? Challenge Day 1 Wrap Up

Yep, us bloggers sure did have a lot to say...
  • Selina shared a couple of stories of her quilting adventurers. I love that our quilts really do have stories that we keep forever in our hearts.
  • Carol blew me away with her travel bag that she made, using a fun technique and stash busting as well. Nice job and very inspirational. I want to play now.
  • Daryl's purse making ability is just out of this world. She has once again blown me away with her creativity and generosity. Her mission is the Sew Powerful Purse Project. I know the girls in Zambia are loving all her work, as well.
  • Elana started my day with a big ole laugh. Her "Crap" basket hit my funny bone today! Lets be honest here...who doesn't need a "crap" basket?
  • Kris shared a wonderful tutorial for a bipartisan committee table topper. It's gorgeous! If only we had more bipartisan anything, right now. LOL! Thanks for your ray of sunshine Kris.
  • Lastly I had a few things to say with my love of whimsical quilts and a real "Say What?" finish.

This is a sign hanging in a friends bathroom. While it hasn't happened yet,
it's screaming to be a project down the road.

Here is a list of tomorrows bloggers.
Visit them and show them all a little love!

Say What? Sew-it Show- It Challenge Blog Hop

You know how us blogging quilters are!
We always have something to say.
It just seemed like the perfect theme for this months Challenge.

I love saving photos and ideas that come across my computer, that inspire me.
Many will never actually be turned into anything, but it's fun to dream!
LOL!!
A Little Spark of Kindness!
This was inspired by an image I saved, but  unfortunately I didn't note where I found it online, so I can't give credit, where credit is due.
I broke into some of my snow dyed fabric for the background on this one.
It's been a long time since I have dyed fabrics, but Dharma Trading Company has hooked me again with their new Ice dying powders. I hope to get on those very soon!

Wordy, whimsical, silly quilts always make me laugh and sometimes tell a story, about the times we are living in.  So, on this next one...
I believe I have found the reason our egg prices have been so crazy recently.

Explains a lot, now doesn't it?
This inspiration came from 2 different "Whipper Snapper" rubber stamps.
If you have never seen their website, you need to check it out.
They have the cutest designs. I linked their page for you, above.

I actually had a more serious "Say What" moment this year.
I started the Bonnie Hunter Mystery (as I always do), but this time I not only kept up with it, but I completed it. It's not sitting in a grocery sack or in a project pile.
Happy Dance!
This is "Chilhowie"

Easter Wrap-up and a New Challenge Hop Starts Monday

Another hanging banner that you inspired. Once I saw your wonderful work I realized that I could just quickly sew things down without having to worry about frayed edges. Makes sewing so much more fun!

I was so excited to get this email on Monday from one of my readers.
Mary V. made this super adorable Easter banner. There is no better compliment, than reading this email!
Thanks so much Mary for allowing me to share your banner with everyone.
I LOVE it!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We had a beautiful spring day here and took full advantage of not having to pile on the coats to enjoy the outdoors.

We may not have had quite that big of an outdoor adventure, but we did spend the day at the Aquarium. They have the best brunch in town and it's such a fun place to take kids. The little guy really enjoyed seeing things, as well. His little legs were kicking up a storm as we walked through the exhibits.

Seeing the "real" Easter Bunny was the hit of the day, for this little one!

We planted a "Magic Bean" garden on Friday and Easter Sunday it bloomed.
It's a fun project for little ones, that my friend started with her grandchildren, years ago.

Monday starts our "Say What?" challenge and we have a great line-up of bloggers, who can't wait to share what they have to say! Mark your calendars, because this promises to be loads of fun!

Hoppy Easter

Just dropping in to wish you a hoppy happy Easter.

It's so much more fun, when you have a couple of grandies to spoil.
Especially since one is now old enough, to really enjoy it.

It just had to be commemorated with a quilt...cause that's what we do, now isn't it?
LOL!!
This sweet 63" x 64" stash buster is "Hippity Hoppity"
Nothing beats finding a use for those all the leftover fabrics from projects past.
Not that I really saw any sizable reduction in my stash.
Isn't that always the way?
(eye roll)
There are so many adorable little critters in this quilt.

But I think my favorite has to be the bunny butt.

After all...if you've got it, flaunt it, is my motto!

I used "Apricot Moon's Daisy Doodle" pantograph for the quilting.
It was just met to go with those daisy's in the quilt.

Sweet Pea has been enjoying all week long.

Nana bunny has been busy stitching up these little guys as well.

They will be delivering baskets to these little munchkins, in the morning!

This one just can't wait!

While we all love the fun part of Easter,
we also remember the real meaning behind it.
Wishing you all a very blessed Easter.
