It's creepy and it's spooky...

And it's here.   Happy Halloween!  My favorite day of the year. I've broken out my new broom and I'm gonna take a cruise around the neighborhood!   LOL!!!!

While I'm away... take a peek at this little runner!  tee hee!!

It's another of those delightful Art to Heart designs.
What can I say, it just speaks to me!
:-)

If those faces don't just say it all!

Recently I bought myself a Silhouette Cameo machine.

Who knew that paper crafting would be so much fun.
This is a full size box tissue box holder!
:-)

Coffins, and lanterns

And treat boxes...oh my!

Hope your day is filled with wonder.
And loads of your favorite treats!

Black Cat Crossing Winner

I hope your all enjoying the Black Cat Crossing Blog Hop, as much as I am. My head is spinning not only with ideas from the incredible projects we have seen so far, but from all the wonderful comments that were left on my post. Thank you all "sew" very much.

Random. org picked my winner this morning....

     #46  Mary Ann

I will be sending an email for your mailing information, so I can get this little guy above, in the mail right away!  After all, we only have a few days til Halloween. :-)

Many have asked about making fabric from my scraps. Under tutorials on the right hand side of my home page, you will find a Thread Fabric tutorial. It's the exact same thing only using fabric scraps.  You can play with just about anything you can stitch down to make some very fun "art" fabric.

An update on the tutorial would be the addition of working with this delightful product above. I was given a couple of packages of "Aquabond" and it worked out exceptionally well. It is a sticky, water soluble stabilizer. The addition of the sticky helps tremendously in keeping your threads or scraps in place while you are stitching. Have yourself some fun and let you imagination run wild!  :-)

Enjoy the rest of the hop!

Black Cat Crossing Blog Hop

I can tell you, I squealed with delight when I saw these fabulous fabrics, that Maywood Studio came out with for Halloween. The colors are so warm and wonderful. They are truly  just incredible, and lets face it,  nothing gets me more excited than Halloween. Plug your ears all you Moose out there, you didn't hear that from me!  :-)

Here's my tribute to "Black Cat Crossing" quilt.
I knew when I saw these fabrics, they needed to be focal points.
Of course they had to be surrounded by Friendship Stars.
To remind me of all the friends I have made in this
blogging community, that I love so much.

Each star has a button in the center.
And the border is finished off with prairie points!

Now I just have to share...
(you know I share the good the bad and the ugly here)
I had this all pieced, quilted, bound, and was in the process of stitching on all the little buttons...

When "Horrors" I found a problem.
Do you see it?

You know I love you all, but I was not about to unbind, unquilt and unstitch this for you!
And I couldn't live with it.

No... I got my thoughts together and came up with a solution.
Yes... a patch!
If there is anything we quilters are, it's resourceful.
 Am I right?

Now you see it, now you don't!
:-)

I wanted a table runner for my Halloween table.
After a search online for coloring pages, I knew I was onto something.

It was the expression on the moon that sold me!

I used a high loft batting. I love the dimension it gives a project.

 Backing up a bit.
All those friendship stars from my quilt above, are made with 1 1/2" squares.
I like to make those half square triangles a bit bigger and trim them down.
Here is my pile of scrap. I was not going to throw it away!
Oh no, not this fabric!
What to do, What to do???

You've seen me make thread fabric before...
Well, this made perfect "scrap fabric" fabric!
:-)

Which turned itself into a fun little mini quiltie!
Ahhh, the power of scraps or shards, I guess I should say.
LOL!!

Maywood Studios...
You folks hit the nail on the head. Black Cat Crossing is the greatest!
I love, love, love it, and can't thank you enough for sponsoring this hop!
A hop that well...just wouldn't be the same without our delightfully Wicked Wendy at the helm, and of course our incredible Madame Samm, who has put her heart and soul into making this blog and all of us, the best community around!  (whew that might be the longest sentence yet)  You girls are just incredible.

Thanks so much for visiting me today.
I have just one other little thing to share.

This little 14" table topper was made from the last of the scraps of my precious
Black Cat Crossing fabric.

Guess what?

It can be yours!
Leave me a comment and I will pick my winner on Mon Oct 27.
I know it's a bit early, but you'll have it for Halloween then.
:-)

Also be sure you visit my fellow bloggers today.
They have cooked up some incredible projects to share!

Feb Sue

You got a sneak peek of the fabrics in my Around the World blog post...

Here she is.
This heart felt little girl has a kitten with her this time!

Don't you just love all the details on her dress.
Little things make a big difference.

Kathie really hit it out of the park this time.
Oh what a great way to play with quilting!

You can find this little one along with her other friends over at

Breakfast at Cooper Landing

I promised myself, I was not going to buy another thing...
But I lied.
Once I saw this pattern, I was reeled in. Hook, line and sinker.

Was it the moose, or the rich colors?

I will never tell.

Happy Columbus Day (2014 International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta)

While it's not really one of his ships...
It was so fitting.

I just got back from the International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque.

The Special Shape Balloons always delight.

I think the Blue Whale had to be my favorite this year.

Yoda's eyes looked right thru you. That was pretty cool.

There is always room to get crazy at the fiesta...

It was just getting light, so you really don't get the full effect of this hair color.
I've never seen anything quite so vibrant...
Especially on someone who was at least my age!
I never thought of florescent pink as a color I could wear.

LOL!!

This guy proves that
a good time was had by all!
:-)

Howling Haunted House

Did you happen to catch this?  I know I almost missed it, and I sure do not know why.  I love "Pecks Pieces", and visit it all the time. Marjory shares the most delightful patterns with us. This one sure makes me smile. Yes, I have caught up and downloaded all she has posted so far. I think I am going to have to start on it today cause this is just too fun!   ;-)   You can find it here yourself.

           http://peckspieces.blogspot.com/2014/09/howling-haunted-house-wall-quilt.html

We've got time. Halloween is still 3 weeks away!  Now you know your house doesn't need cleaning, meals don't need to be cooked and goodness knows we can all wear the same cloths for a few days. Heck no, there is no time for that stuff, not when there is a great pattern to stitch!  That's my story, and I'm stickin to it!
                                                        :-)

12" Mini Swap

I have heard from Terry, that she received my mini quilt...

I was beginning to wonder.
This little guy took the scenic route to her house.
It was almost a week and a half to get just a couple of
states away???

I was so relieve to hear that it did arrive safe and sound.

Embroidery was our theme this time...
My hand embroidery is just not all that great,
so, I improvised.

This little embroidery is a Deb Strain design.
It just seemed perfect for this swap!

Hope you enjoy Terry!

12" Mini Swap

It arrived today.
The last of our 12" mini swap quilties!

Embroidery was the theme of this swap
and Danette did a fabulous job on this beauty.

If that isn't just the best sentiment.
I just love it!
It speaks volumes of this wonderful blogging community
I'm so proud to be a part of.

Thanks Danette, you have certainly made my day.
It was quite a thrill to find out that you live right next to the community
I grew up in. It just makes me feel like a little bit of
home came along with it!

Of course we couldn't have done any of this without Cheryll, our incredible swap mom.
Thanks for all the time and effort you put into something we all enjoy so much.
  You are just the best!

:-)
