What "favorite" part do you heart????
when it comes to Christmas...
Is it the elves?
Or the reindeer?
Or Nutcrackers that stand by?
Angels bearing gifts...
(Especially chocolate chip cookies)
yum yum!
Could it be the tree...
that sparkles and shimmers
or the fact, that not a creature was stirring,
except that blasted mouse!
Is it waiting for Santa to slip down the chimney with care?
*********
It's the lights and the glitter and the dreams, we drift off by.
Yes those are what I hold, dear to my heart, me oh my!
This wonderful quilt has all the things that I "heart"!
One would think it's just perfect...
but wait there's still more.
I can even hang my stocking on the chimney with care.
And YES, they are "real" stocking you can fill if you dare!
Yes, this quilt fills my heart like no other you see.
I am just "sew" happy, that my heart dances with glee.
This fun filled pattern is "Merry and Bright"
from the Red Boot Quilt Company...
Maynards home.
I know you all remember Maynard.
:-)
You can see more of her darling designs right
Monday, when I first started writing this post, the pattern was no longer
on her site. I had suggested, if interested you could email
and ask about it. Then I decided to contact her myself.
Toni quickly responded that the pattern had been retired.
BUT...
She offered to put it back up in her shop just for me us!
It's for a very limited time...
just til the end of December, then it goes away forever.
Best yet, this delightful pattern is less than $3 if you live in the USA.
If that isn't, just the best Christmas gift and likely the most
affordable we will see all season!
;-)
If your interested, you can purchase it right
A big thanks to Toni and the Red Boot Quilt Company!
This was so unexpected.
Three cheers to Marian from SEAMS TO BE SEW
for hosting this fabulous holiday hop.
(you just never mind that glass of eggnog I'm toasting with)
LOL!!
I know I can speak for us all, when I say...
we are delighted to be back together again
and it wouldn't have happened without you.
Please visit my fellow bloggers today.
While they share, all that holds dear to their hearts.

ReplyDeleteYour quilt is so cute! I love how you photographed all of the little scenes that make up the whole. Love it! The best thing about Christmas to me is that the world seems to become a little softer and kinder, if only for a short while.
ReplyDeleteWhats in my heart for this christmas is my family and sewing up a few fleece pajama pants to keep them warm all winter....Ty for sharing love the wall quilt...happyness04431@yahoo.com

ReplyDeleteA truly adorable quilt! Christmas is my favourite time of the year. I wish everyone good health for christmas.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot. Nativities are my very favorite Christmas decor except for lights, and the tree, and Santa, and board games...or we play board games during the holiday season.
ReplyDeletexx, Carol
I love being with my family especially the Grandchildren & great Grandchildren!

I enjoy the music and traditional decoration, but dislike the commercialization of Christmas. Merry and Bright is delightful. So nice of the designer to make it available again for a short time.

I love this, Joan. Those stockings just add an extra bit of bling to a darling quilt and, as you always do, you did a fabulous job on it. There are so many favorites about Christmas - family, music, nativities, lights....so hard to pick just one.
ReplyDeleteI just knew you would have something great. And you did! I love you quilt. What a terrific idea too, to be able to hang real stockings on the fireplace. Beautiful! It sure has all the "favorites" of the year.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastically detailed, bright, and cheery quilt! So fun!

ReplyDeleteOh now this is the greatest! What a neat tradition I could start with the grandkids to hang it each year and have treats in the stockings. Thanks for getting it able to purchase for us. So many things in my heart at Christmas, Jesus, cookies, family...on and on. Hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is just so you, cut as can be and with a smile.
ReplyDeleteThis year will be a little different for us.We will be unable to buy for the family, so I'm sewing for them. I just wished I had started earlier. At first it bothered me but the more I thought about it the more I realized I was thinking more personable of each child (adults). And my heart was in it more. Thus a real Christmas. I think this will be the best Christmas ever. No stress, just love.
Joan I think this pattern is adorable but it is something I would never finish. So please bypass me on you give-away.
I truly appreciate your offering it. Your encouragement and friendship over the past few years are the best gift I could ever receive. Thank you and have the Merriest Christmas

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the darling pattern. What's in my heart? A feeling of joy and definitely a sense of being grateful for what I have and being able to live in this wonderful world.
ReplyDeleteMaking cookies with my niece who is 9. It makes my Christmas and you can keep the rest of it. After flour in our hair and sugar coated skin, sprinkles on our eyelashes, and lots of taste testing - and the giggles, oh my the laughter - I am FULL of joy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt. There are so many interesting and colorful images. Very pretty and cheerful. I think what makes Christmas special for me would be all the family together. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteA really cute Christmas quilt and functional too. I love the idea of hanging stockings on it. I'll have to take a look at the pattern.

This is the most darling quilt! I love the way the stockings hang on the quilt. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the angels. They are adorable!
ReplyDeleteOhhh...this quilt is adorable! It would put a smile on the grinch's face! Love the little elf. Thank you so much for sharing it and your cute little rhymes too. sewgood414@hotmaildotcom
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt and so much to look at on the quilt. The kids would love looking at it I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat is in my heart for the holidays is my family and especially each of my grandchildren. There's nothing more fun during the holidays than to watch the excitement in a child's face. My grandchildren are all still young enough that they love anything they get for a present so it's such fun to watch them open their gifts.
First off, now I really want some eggnog, lol. So, what's in my heart? Aside from family, my heart delights at decorating the tree, driving through town listening to Christmas carols and looking at the twinkle lights, baking holiday cookies, and stocking stuffer surprises. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThats a great decoration. I look forward to the feeling of love and sharing that comes with Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMy grands and their moms and dads are always in my heart but especially at Christmas. Those families so affected by the recent terrorism is Paris are also in my heart this year.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are always so wonderful and I would not have been surprised if you had designed this one yourself. Toni's pattern is adorable and I totally love the removable, fillable stockings that have been hung by the chimney with care. Thanks for helping to make 'heart' in Christmas.
Very full quilt. I like that you could fill the stockings.
ReplyDeleteVery full quilt. I like that you could fill the stockings.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great quilt! You did a fantastic job.
ReplyDeleteI have one wish for Christmas this year. It is to reconcile with my daughter. We argued in June and she has refused to talk to me since then. I have apologized and I have prayed daily. It's been a very rough 5 months waiting and hoping for a breakthrough. I know it's a personal wish, especially when there is so much violence and corruption in the world. It all must start within ourselves. Peace to all.
ReplyDeleteMy heart longs for Peace in the world.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice blog! I really enjoyed it. My heart longs for all my family to be together.
ReplyDeleteHi Joan!!
ReplyDeleteJust back from buying a copy of the pattern--$2.91!!! Of course it is 47 pages long and I certainly don't have enough ink......but maybe if I print out the drawings a couple at a time and just read the rest..... Great quilt and you did a wonderful job.
That is such a great wall hanging for Christmas! I especially love the real stockings. Don't enter me to win this pattern because I bought it (and another) before I read to the end of your post!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fabulous quilt. And yes it's good to be back together again. I always enjoy seeing your projects.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas quilt is beyond precious!!! I love everything about it. Thanks for sharing up close pictures, too. I think I am going to have to go get that pattern, (like I need another project!).
ReplyDeleteIn my heart this Christmas, will be like always my mom, brother, sister and her three children, my loving wacky family. Thank you!
My email is: bestbelle2010@aol.com
You have so much to look forward too!! What a great wall hanging!!!
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas quilt is amazing. At Christmas (and throughout the year) I heart my mother, my 4 siblings, and their families. We are blessed to live near each other and get together all through the year. C_dragon at earthlink dot net
ReplyDeleteLove Maynard! My daughter's high school boyfriend was a Maynard. The holidays are all about family for me. It is so much fun for all of us to get together. Merry Christmoose!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful compliment, I knew coming to visit today was going to be amazing, but I had NO idea how amazing, and what a wonderful way to present this quilt. I'm definitely buying the pattern. You've made my heart smile today, their is no question that Christmas Is In Your Heart Joan. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThat is a sweet quilt. I enjoyed your presentation of it. And to be able to buy the pattern is just great.
ReplyDeleteJoan, your work always blows me away and leaves me smiling! What a darling quilt and how fun that it is now available for a limited time again thanks to your inquiry. Absolutely wonderful work. My family is in my heart for the holidays. My mom stays with us for a few days and we spend the day with my in-laws. I love it when we all gather and join hands for our blessing before dinner because my boys and their cousins amaze me with their additions to our prayer. It is a day that truly warms my heart.
ReplyDeleteFantastic quilt!!
