Travel EPP Kit

I have to say, when Linda over at UggaBear Cottage was looking for a few pattern testers, it took me about 2 seconds to shoot off an email to her, volunteering!

I just love this little Travel EPP Kit.

It's a perfect little size to keep all your stitching supplies in, when your traveling.

Approximately 6"x6" and 1" deep.
It all zips up to keep everything contained.
(my favorite part)
:-)

Linda even covered mini Altoid tins to match her kit.
Altoid tins...what a fabulous idea!
Keeping those darn pins from poking you when you travel!
Love it!

***
My little kit looks a bit different...
You know the "boys" here in the Moosestash...

They demanded to be "cover boys"

Those spools of scrap booking ribbon,
that never seem long enough for much of anything,
are the perfect size to go around this little kit.
You know those ones you can pick up in 4 packs at "Target" for a buck!

I appliqued a moose right over it all.
I think personalizing it was half the fun, but don't tell those boys that.
:-)

You can see all the wonderful storage it offers.
The center top, is a little pin cushion. Now just how convenient is that?
And the thread below stores on a ribbon that Velcros open and closed.
"Sew" easy to change out spools.

Pockets, and pouches and storage, oh my!
I just love this little guy.
:-)

The carry strap easily doubles as a key chain.

I re-purposed a little find from the Houston Quilt show last year.
It made the perfect zipper pull.

Everything I need at my fingertips.
Thank you Linda, for letting me play.
:-)

You can find this great pattern over on Pattern Spot,
and Craftsy
(they both are linked for you)

HERE you can read more about it, and see
another adorable tester version.

It's definitely one I recommend!

Now, I'm off to purchase a few of those little Altoid tins!
Have a great day.

New Beginnings kit

My "New Beginning's" kit is finished and ready to mail to Australia for one of those quilters who lost everything in the floods. I had enough of not being able to sew myself, so I spent the day moving things around to make room in my studio to get to my machine, and thankfully last night, I was able to work on this project. I have been lamenting over not having my room to sew in, but thinking of those who don't have a home at all now, makes my plight seem pretty insignificant.  I am happy to have heard from some of my Aussie friends that they are ok, but I continue to keep the others in my thoughts and prayers.

I found this great pattern in my Art to Heart "Sew Necessary" book. It seemed to be just what was needed to give someone a fresh start. Won't you please join in and help a fellow quilter in need? Visit the Gum Tree Designers, and lend a hand.
