Holiday break time...

Have you been following Marians
12 Days of ...
over at "Seams to Be Sew"

She's been delighting us with her adorable designs for a very long time.
I just had to take a break from the holiday preparations, to put this one together.
Is he just the cutest?
Thanks Marian...you are one special lady.

Now it's back to getting ready for Christmas.
I've had the tree up for 3 days with no ornaments, just to see
how the kitties would do. It's not been too bad,
so today it finally gets decorated.
While I'd love to think that Elf on the Shelf here,
was really a threat to those kitties...
They aren't even scared of me most days.
LOL!!!!

til next time...

Whimsical and Wonky Challenge with Island Batik

Whimsical and wonky...
There's nothing more fun to piece.
After all, what's better than not having to match seams for a change?
On a non-sewing "Quilt Club" day, we made a little road trip
and I stumbled on a pattern that was perfect...
A little bit wonky and a whole lotta retro!
:-)
This funky fun pattern is  "Mod TV"  from "Colourwerx".
You can find it
HERE for paper patterns
HERE for a downloadable PDF patterns
This gorgeous "Paisley Dot" stack, offered up just the right amount color!
And you can get 1, TV and antenna from a 10" square piece of fabric.
Whoop whoop!

As I was putting this together, I couldn't help but think, what a fun photo quilt this would make.
The TV screens are 4"x6", a perfect photo size.
Can you see it now?
What a hoot, that would be!
It's been a great year, being an "Island Batik" ambassador.
I love the fabrics they have provided us and
hope I've inspired you, with the monthly challenges.
Next month is our final blog hop for 2018, where we will be sharing,
the new lines of fabric headed to your favorite quilt shops!
It'll definitely be a "must see" hop.

Holiday Hanging and Linky Party

I love this time of the year.
Out comes the Christmas quilts.
"Merry and Bright"
This pattern is from "Red Boot Quilt Company"
I finished this quilt in 2015, but it welcomes me into my sewing room every Christmas.
The stockings actually hang from the buttons sewn on the mantle!
Here are some of my other favorites...
"I Believe", an "Art to Heart" design.
"Snowman Soup" from "Angies Bits and Pieces"

Now I showed you mine...you show me yours!

December wild life

Can you believe there are only 25 more days till Christmas!
I do hope your ready for it, cause I'm not at all.
I'm still trying to figure out where the year went in such a hurry.
About the only thing I am caught up on is my "Wild Life" BOM.
LOL!!
Amy really knocked it out of the ball park with this block.
This little bandit eating a chocolate chip cookie just makes me laugh.
I added an additional birdie from Carla's March block,
flying in the opposite direction, just because!
Finally, we get to start stitching things together!
Happy dance, happy dance.
Are you just loving it?
I braved the cold to get photos outside in good light, to show how these
 batiks really make things sing!
Lighting makes all the difference in the world, doesn't it?
Some of you may have noticed that I changed up my leaves and bear paw block.
Once I layed out everything, I decided to change out some colors on those blocks.
I was so excited to get this stitched together, that I completely forgot to take
photos of the new blocks.
LOL!!
As you can see, there is just 1 more row to be added to the bottom next month.
That will wrap up this year of "Wild" fun.
A big thank you to "Island Batik" for providing me
with these gorgeous fabrics for this hop.
They are from their Basic and Blenders collections, and are available all the time!
Have you missed anything?
It's not too late...
For a small fee you can still get these blocks!
