I searched my book collection and found a quilt pattern,
that really showed off these fun fabrics,
in "Fresh and Fabulous Quilts"
by Cheryl Brown
The colors and the secondary design are a match made in Heaven!
There's nothing more fun than quilting a project, that's colors pop like this!
Accept maybe, quilting it with a "Hobb's" product.
Their cotton batting was perfect for the job.
Have you ever tried scalloped borders?
There are templates in the book, that made these super easy.
I wish that had been the case in some of my past projects.
LOL!!
Just for fun, I topped them off with sunny yo-yo's!
I had a little extra fabric...
Just enough to make these petals...
and turn them into this fun flower pillow.
...and that's how my "Beat the Heat" garden grows!
It's "Sunny Side Up" all around.

ReplyDeleteYou expect me to choose just ONE favorite? Okay so today that will be Kaleidoscope - but that will likely change tomorrow. (I just with Kaleidoscope had some of the gears fabric in it.)
I love Sunny Side Up. But then, I love your quilt and pillow, so was drawn to blues and yellows. Great job!!

ReplyDeleteFabulous finish. Scallops are a mystery to me and I would have to add something like you did, love the yo yo flowers on its insets. You and Connie really lucked out receiving this line, I think it's my favorite. Although I do like all the gears and cogs.

Graphic Gems is my choice, beautiful favourites right there. Your photo shoot setting, that shows off the sunshine colours so well,and a cushion with petals, what a fantastic way to use up all the pieces. A little breath of sunshine down here as we come to the end of a long wet winter.

ReplyDeleteYour quilt is fantastic with all the visual interest and the yellow and blues. Just prefect. There has been some fantastic inspiration this blog hop. All of the projects and fabrics have been my favorites. :) But if I choose it would be Petal Pushers (lush color), Quiet Shades (blendable texture) and Sunny side Up (happy colors).

ReplyDeleteSunnyside Up with Steam Engine running a very close second since I have a design for those colors. Blues and Yellows are my favorite combo .... they make me happy. I love that quilt and the pillow is wonderful ... I need a pattern for it!! Beautiful
