Words to Grow By...Blooper Edition

You know we all love to share our projects with each other.
And how we always put our best foot forward, when we do.
Well, it's not always sunshine and roses around here!
I was so excited to get my "Words to Grow" by BOM top pieced!
Uh-huh!
Sadly I even pinned the last row to make sure everything lined up.

Yep, that's how my day ended.
Maybe it was the wine...
OK, lots of wine...
It was quilt club day, what else can I say!

Lets back up a few hours.
I was working away trying to catch up on my blocks.
I bent over to get a piece of fabric, when Denali decided I was
a great climbing post!
Crazy cat! He had never done that before.
And he had no intentions of moving either.
We frequently fight over who's chair it is by the sewing machine...
but this was a first.
LOL!!!!
I'm happy to report that my trusty seam ripper didn't let me down,
and this baby is now pieced correctly!

SEW...
How is your BOM coming along?

til next time...
Keep on Stitchin'

  3. OMGosh! Denali looks like a twin to our late cat, Chester, who also had a mind of his own and wasn't hesistant to make sure he got what he wanted lol. Love you quilt top, too :)

  4. My furkids have never done that - oyi, he doesn't look like there is any intent to move. I laughed at the oops as we have all been there, done that - some hate to show it. This is a fabulous quilt to lighten the year.

  5. lol, my cat does that too. His preferred "horse" is my husband, but he will occasionally try out my back. Your quilt is great, even better with the last row on the right way up!

  6. It can be helpful to realize that everyone makes piecing mistakes! Your quilt looks great, even with the row upside down!

  8. Awww, sweet! Denali thought you were warm and comfy! LOL When I had cats, one would love to sit on the bed of my machine and supervise everything I did! That quilt is SEW cute! Love it! Umm, I'm sure I've NEVER done anything like that!! LOL I'm really good friends with Jackie the Ripper!!

  9. I love your colourful quilt. I find myself checking 3 or 4 times when I add a row. Yes, because I added one upside down at one point. I think we all have done that. Thank you for showing us you are human, too. :)

Denali is so cute. I had a cat that would wait on the kitchen table for me to come home from work and then hop up to lay around my neck as I took off my coat etc. She did that for years until I was in a car accident and got whiplash. They are such sweet companions.

  10. Why is it that we don't see the oops right away. The quilt is wonderful, but I'm really wondering how long you stayed bent over for Denali??? My cat hasn't tried that one yet. He has been know to use my arm as a pillow when I am at the computer. Always the right arm, of course.

  11. Haha! You do like to do things differently! At least you realised the mistake before quilting it.
And it does look wonderful all put together! Great finish.
How did your cat learn a trick like that? And what's next?

  12. Glad to know we're all human! Seam rippers were invented for a reason I guess. The best has to be your kitty though - I'll bet he was laughing all the while.

  14. Cats are really a joy to have. One of mine used to climb up on top of the refrigerator and jump down on my shoulder when I walked by, and sit on my shoulder as if she was a bird when walking around the house.

She did that when a friend came over, and, for some reason, the neighbor never came in my house again... The cat scared the poop out of her you might say because she wasn't a cat person... LOL...

  15. That was so cute! I was hoping you would have left it like that and quilted it that way. Everyone who would see it would smile!
