Wonderful World of Color Day 5

Day five has arrived and it always makes me just a little sad.

We have seen some incredibly colorful projects this week, but it's not over yet.

Kathy shared her not so yellow..."Yellow Brick Road" quilt with us along with different interpretations from students she taught.

Wendy knocked our socks off today with a fabulous improv quilt with all her glorious colors!

Karen singing her song, created a tote bag that's just perfect.

Julia not only rocked the color world, but the math world too. If only I had stuck with geometry in school!

Rachel took us on a journey of reflection on our world today and really made us stop and think. Thank you for such a powerful post.

Joan (that's me) shared a barn in a color no one has likely ever seen. Oh and a little secret too!

What can I say about my fellow bloggers this week?

You truly colored my world.

It's My Day on the Wonderful World of Color Blog Hop

We have seen so many incredible projects this week, thanks to my awesome fellow bloggers. Today is my day to share, and in my world right now, my color is

Having been a boy mom all my life, pink wasn't a color we saw much of around here.

Then came my lil "grandie" Sweet Pea, and that all changed.

I stumbled on this pattern on Pinterest and fell in love with it.

I was especially drawn to the pink version, but in my head I knew that the regular barn color would be best. What if I had little boy grandies down the road?

I talked it over with my quilt friends and we all were in agreement...

So what did I do?

Yep, not listen to anyone, including myself.

I just couldn't help it.

I love all the animals.

And that turquoise hair'd horse!

I "girlie'd" it up a little bit more, with flowers from a quilt pattern from

"Red Boot Quilt Company".

This sweet little "Highland Cow" is the first animal in the barn.

A friend of mine makes all kinds of fun amigurumi crochet animals and dolls.

The peak on the barn was easy to make with PVC pipes. I couldn't get the top of the barn to keep from sagging, so I got out my drill and put a couple of holes in the elbows on the top and popped in a dowel rod. Ta-Dah! That was all it took.

Duct tape holds it all down nicely and it's easy to dis-assemble and store when not in use.

Speaking of use... I would love to report that it was met with resounding "LOVE", but not really.

Right now it's just a place to go and get away to "poop". I guess we all have to have a place like that!

She can hide, but I can still smell her!

Gotta love it, don't ya?

Her new barn has joined past hop projects...definitely a pink theme going on here.

BUT...

Just as I finished up her room, we got the news!

Needless to say, I'm over the moon excited, but does this mean I just might have to un-girlie her room just a little bit and make a new barn? Who knows...blue might just be the next color, in my world.

We will know soon!

Wonderful World of Color Day 4

We are already at day 4 and the bloggers did soar, with projects are colorful as a rainbow.

Carol dazzled us with some of her colorful projects and tempted us all with a fabulous free jelly roll free pattern, she found online.

Joy filled my heart with...well "joy" sharing her beautiful Autumn quilt. I'm still marveling over how it matches the background that inspired her perfectly.

Selina rocked the WWOC with her take on the old Disney Show. Her imagination never ceases to amaze me.

Karrin shared a beautiful tumbler quilt in a rainbow of color. Check out the header on her blog page as well. Her sweet spring photo, just melted my heart!

Emily made a very special quilt for her son's teacher, in her favorite colors.

Becky created a colorful jacket, that really shows her colors. She also dug into her UFO bag and finished the cutest little Babushka quiltie. Way to rock the hop.

We had a little mix-up on dates, so you may have missed Words & Stitches, yesterday. Make sure you visit, because Beth shared funniest named quilt I think I've heard, along with some colorful quilts she has made through the years....You have to check it out for yourself!

Wonderful World of Color Day 3

Yippee skippee, we are at day 3, and the past two have been nothing short of awesome.

Today's bloggers sure have had their fabulous "color" glasses on.

Daryl took us on a trip down memory lane and shared a colorful scrappy quilt.

Gail tickled my funny bone with her ROY-G-BIV bag. I love her acronym!

Carol delighted us with so many beautiful scrappy quilts and a very special growth chart.

Leah really put her heart into her colorful project!

Lynn shared 3 beauties, each one in its own world of color.

At Danice's house it's "Color O'Clock" and I love it!

What's my favorite part about blog hops?

They make us a small world. We can reach out to anyone across the globe and share.

I love seeing our worldwide quilting community come together.

Wonderful World of Color Blog Hop Day 2

Skip to my Lou...the gals rocked day two.

Carol took us out of this world for the hop this time. She even had an alien encounter!

Bea went on a treasure hunt with her family and found the best treasure herself. Then she ran with it and delighted us all with a treasure.

Brenda made a colorful and adventurous new friend with gorgeous Island Batik fabrics.

Elizabeth dazzled us with 2 beautiful projects and taught us a little about Mandala's along the way. Then she brought springtime inside with her fabulous wool tuplis!

Kim made the sweetest little Beatrice Potter tea cozy.

Cindy took us on a journey through her fabulous scrap collection and share her beautiful "Friendship Star" quiltie.

Debbie gave us a mini quilt show, sharing some of her colorful projects. The "star" of the show is her gorgeous "Star" quilt with an explosion of beautiful colors.

Now if all that didn't get your color engine going today, I'm not too sure what will.
