Summer Mini Swap time

Oh it's that time again!   Stitching Cubby Hole's mini swap!  This is a swap that I am so delighted to be a part of.

My partner this time was Terry in sunny California. What's the first thing I think of when I hear California...(other than Disneyland of course)   The Beach!

And it looks like, that is just what Terry was thinking too!
Is this just the cutest summer quiltie you have ever seen?

The detail is just spectacular. The ric-rac on the sun, the shells, and driftwood!
All topped of with gorgeous hand quilting.
I can't begin to tell you just how special this is!
Terry, your the best.
And it will be treasured forever.

Now it makes me wish, we had water in Colorado.
Well, we have a little water, but big beautiful beaches...
not so much!
Guess I will just sit and stare at my quiltie and dream!

Be sure to check out the new Saturday Swap Linky Party over at
Drowning in Fabric

  1. The detail on this piece is wonderful. You can hear the waves washing up the beach so clearly. Watch out for your shells before they are swept away.

  2. That is so cute! She did a great job depicting summer in So. CA/

  3. California dreamin'. You will enjoy this one when the snow is flying...
    Very cute.

  4. art work in threads with a captive theme....so summery ....

  5. This is a lovely swap. Yes, get out your beach towel and sit in the sand box!

  6. The mini quilt is wonderful. The very first detail I noticed was the sand. The fabric is the epitome of sand and then the details absolutely explode from there. You had a wonderful partner.

  7. Super cute! I love all the little extras she has added to make it so realistic! I have been thinking I would like to find a mini-quilt swap to participate in. So fun.

  8. You should share this swap on the new Saturday Swap linky.

  9. I just LoVe the quilt Terry sent you. It's perfect for Summer. :)
