Simply Sign Me

I'm excited to announce that I am co-hosting a Signature Block Swap

with Marian of Seams to be Sew.

We "sew" love all our blogging buddies and internet friends.

Having a signature swap is just a little way of keeping them close to our hearts, don't you agree?

Marian has come up with some fabulous ideas...

The rules are simple...other than blocks needing to be 4 1/2" unfinished, there are no rules. You pick your block, you pick your colors, you make it all about "YOU". 

You can sign it with your name, date, city, state, country, area you live, URL, blog name, or phrase that says "this is me".

You can use a Pigma Pen to sign it,

You can embroider, machine embroider,

whatever your heart desires.

Were giving you plenty of time to participate.

Signups will be until Sept 9th, and blocks won't need to be mailed until March of 2017. That gives us all, plenty of time to get thru the holidays stress free.

Once signup's close, we will know exactly how many blocks 

you will need to make. 

You'll send them to me along with a stamped, self addressed envelope. I will separate all the blocks and mail them back to you!

National Quilting Day

... What better day to share a mug rug swap, than National Quilting Day.

12" Mini Swap

I have heard from Terry, that she received my mini quilt...

 

I was beginning to wonder.

This little guy took the scenic route to her house.

It was almost a week and a half to get just a couple of

states away???

I was so relieve to hear that it did arrive safe and sound.

 

Embroidery was our theme this time...

My hand embroidery is just not all that great,

so, I improvised. 

 This little embroidery is a Deb Strain design.

It just seemed perfect for this swap!

12" Mini Swap

It arrived today.

The last of our 12" mini swap quilties!

 

Embroidery was the theme of this swap

and Danette did a fabulous job on this beauty.

I just love it!

I'm so proud to be a part of.

Thanks Danette, you have certainly made my day.

It was quite a thrill to find out that you live right next to the community 

I grew up in. It just makes me feel like a little bit of

home came along with it!

Of course we couldn't have done any of this without Cheryll, our incredible swap mom.

Happy 4th!

When I thought about summer for the Stitching Cubbyhole mini swap,

the 4th of July was the first thing to come to mind.

Here is the mini, I sent to my partner, Hollie in Arkansas.

Since the swap wasn't about themes, I went out on a limb...

And was delighted to hear from Hollie, that it was perfect for her.

Her son had done numerous tours overseas, and is about to begin another.

She said this quiltie was a perfect fit for her!

I'm so glad.

We are so fortunate to have these young men and women fight for our freedom.

This is another of  Edyta Sitar's, Seasonal Silhouettes.

I cropped it down a bit to fit a mini.

I love these designs so much, that I had to do another for me...

Summer Mini Swap time

Oh it's that time again!   Stitching Cubby Hole's mini swap!  This is a swap that I am so delighted to be a part of.

My partner this time was Terry in sunny California. What's the first thing I think of when I hear California...(other than Disneyland of course)   The Beach!

 

And it looks like, that is just what Terry was thinking too!

The detail is just spectacular. The ric-rac on the sun, the shells, and driftwood!

All topped of with gorgeous hand quilting. 

I can't begin to tell you just how special this is!

Now it makes me wish, we had water in Colorado.

Well, we have a little water, but big beautiful beaches...

not so much!

Guess I will just sit and stare at my quiltie and dream!

Sweet Homecoming!

Nothing beats a great trip, more than "fun" mail when you get home!

This past week was a fabulous one.  I arrived home to find this bright and beautiful, Halloween Table runner in my mail.

     
If the top isn't just the best, the backing is will certainly put a smile on your face.    I just love the adorable little witches!!!

Bet your wondering just who sent me this, and why????  Well, it was none other than the wonderful Ruth in Pasadena MD.  Quilted Table Yahoo group hosts swaps 4 times a year, and Ruth had my name.  If the table runner wasn't enough, she also send me fabric postcards to send to my friends this fall!

 

Now how cool are these?

 

I also found a package from Connecting Threads. Seems like our friend Bea, over at BeaQuilter picked me as a winner of her give a way for the Twist to the 60's blog hop. Wow, thank you sew very very much! They are fabulous!

 

 

 

So, where the heck have I been you ask...

                                                  Just a little clue...

Yes, I have been to the International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

It's an almost annual trip. My BFF lives in Albuquerque, and in the past 35 years, I have only missed 2 fiestas.

 

Some would be tired of it all, the crowds, the traffic...

 But when you see these things flying overhead, it's all worth the early hours too!

 

Balloons have come a long way... this one has 3 sides.

 

While impossible to get photos from all three, there were 2 decent ones I managed to get.

 

 

The eyes on this were truly a work of art. It was so real looking that it almost looked like it was watching you as it flew overhead.

 

Yep, it certainly was a week to remember. Great weather, great friends, and way too much great food. :-)

Let the diet begin!

Picnic Tables with Style Swap

Ohhhh,  a very special table runner popped into my mailbox today from Mary, in New York...

 

Is this not just the cutest thing you have ever seen?

I must say, I have the best dressed ants on the planet. Bow ties!

Now if that isn't just, too darn adorable!

 

Mary topped it off with a very special napkin to match.

 

 

Fun... huh...

Let me make this perfectly clear...

There will be no one in this house using that napkin!

Easter Table Runner Swap

Quilted Table Yahoo group had an Easter table runner swap, and I got word that my partner received her runner yesterday. Yippee!!


Now I can share it with all of you...

 

Yes it's another one of those precious Whippersnapper rubber stamp designs.

I am thrilled that my partner Robin liked it!

Stocking Swap

Could it be??? Would it be??  Ohhhhh yippee, it is!  It finally made it thru customs.

Here in the USA, we don't see boxes like this too often!

I knew it was what I had been waiting for. :-)

 

You see in December, Aunt Pitty Pat hosted a stocking swap. I was lucky enough to be able to swap with a gal in Russia. One of my biggest joys in blogging it meeting new friends across the globe, and having the privilege of swapping with them, is just "icing" on the cake!

 

This is the lovely package that my partner Lena sent to me!

So pretty!

 

This was like a magic box, where things just kept coming out of no where!

 

Beautiful ornaments,  holiday napkins, yummy chocolates, one that's in a wonderful tin with a beautiful photo of Russian architecture.

 

Nesting Dolls!

Have you ever seen them?

The entire family fits inside each other.

I love these dolls. Every time I was in Alaska, I came close to getting a set. I am so glad I waited, and I have the real thing.

 

Topped off with not only a fabulous box, but a bar of hand made soap in it. I just can't tell you how pretty it is!

All topped off with a set of silicone mini bundt baking pans!

Shipping international can be difficult at times. Between customs and the postal service it was almost a 2 month wait. The package I mailed her took about 6 weeks. I was really starting to get worried about it never reaching her, but was delighted when she posted that she did in fact receive it.

 

Finally, I can share the stocking I sent to Lena. I filled it with fabrics and sewing notions.

Strangely seems to match the Holiday Lane pillow I did, doesn't it?

Yes, it was all about pink wasn't it?

I might add that Lena has a beautiful blog. You might just want to check it out...

And, yes  - you will need your translator to read it, but that's just another toy that Google has given us to reach across the globe and communicate!
