Ringing out the old and in the new...

I'm sure your as ready to get rid of 2020. I know I am.

I would love to say I'm really over this year and its drama, but it did bring our first grand baby,

and we all just recovered from the Covid scourge, which luckily the baby didn't get from us. So I can't really say it was a horrible year, for us anyway, but my heart breaks for those who were not so lucky.

But I am looking onward and upward to a new year, hopefully one where we can return to our lives as we knew them a year ago. I'm sure you feel the need for a big ole hug from a friend too.

Not to mention I want my quilt retreats and shows back.

Helping us get back to some kind of normal are 2 fabulous ladies, I'm sure you all know.

Carla from "Creatin' in the Sticks" is hosting a NON-SEWING 1 day hop

Just share your Stitching Resolution for next year.

What a great way to inspire each other and help us all start getting a plan together.

It's a great time to share our secret holiday projects with each other too.

Winky Winky!

Carol from "Just Let Me Quilt" is hosting

In January you can show off your Hearts on Fire with this hop.
No red hearts...that's the only rule.
Let's just see what fun things we can inspire each other with, in this hop.
My thinking cap is on for sure.

My year got even better, when I received a box in the mail the other day.
Just look at this beauty!
A "Oliso" mini steam iron. Complete with its own matching silicone pad.
Whoop Whoop. I'm so excited.

Best yet, these little guys are on sale and have free shipping right now.
What better time to spoil yourself for the holidays.
Check it out on the Oliso website

Have you tried to buy a new iron recently. It's crazy. Apparently Covid has had an effect on their availability too. I don't think it was like the toilet paper hording that went on, but the end result was just about the same. LOL!!!  Thankfully the brand new Oliso TG1600 irons will ship in January, and you get a $20 gift card for a friend too. I'm so excited...that I just can't hide it.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

til next time...
Keep on Stitchin'

  1. I knew about the NEW member of the family, but not aware of you all being sick. Speedy and healthy outcomes to all.

  2. Wow, Joan. I had no idea you had been sick, but I'm so glad you are all doing better. Take good care of yourselves. I hear there are some nasty lingering symptoms. Love your new iron! I have one just like that on the way. This quilt I'm working on has a lot of in-the-hoop applique and this tiny iron will be perfect to tack those down prior to the embroidery! Sweet baby girl is growing so quickly!! Thankful she was not affected by Covid.

  3. So glad you are on the other side of the covid bug and the baby didn't get it. That iron is sweet!

  4. Your granddaughter is beautiful. It must have been awful not to cuddle her while you had covid. Hopefully, you and your family are recovered with no lingering effects. The good news? You now have antibodies.

  5. I think your granddaughter is definitely the best thing to have come out of this year!! It really is good to have a positive.
When I was reading your post I thought that I really don't have a stitching resolution, but what I have learnt from this year is how easily I was able to make do with what I had in my stash. I need to keep that one happening.
How crazy that irons are not easily available. But this has been such an odd time. In our country caravans have been selling like hot cakes because people know there will be no overseas travel for quite a while. Now they are hard to buy. I heard the other day that it is now difficult to get hire cars as the companies have sold a lot of their fleet off. There have been a lot of odd things that you wouldn't expect.
Our family also looks to be getting better after their run in with covid. I think hearing about what you went through helped me relax a bit more when we heard their news. Now just work on staying well and enjoying that gorgeous girl.
