Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs holds a best of Linky Party, that I just can't wait for every year. It's always fun to look back at everyone's best and even catch a few things I may have missed throughout the year. This year is even more special, because for so many it hasn't been the best year and these little feel good moments can help keep us all sane and grounded.
So here are my 5 top "Bests" for 2020.
"Gnome in my Garden"
For "It's a Garden Party Row Along" hosted by Marian at "Seams to Be Sew".
Getting out in our gardens was the perfect way to pass time this year.
Marian couldn't have picked a better theme for this years row along!
"Bringing new life to an old quilt"
One of my favorite projects this year.
Taking my oldest boys rag-tag quilt apart and re-working it into a new quilt for our first grandbaby, was truly a labor of love. This 38 year old quilt has a brand new life again.
And this "Nana" has the little girl she always dreamed of. LOL!
"Race Car Dreams"
The story and the quilts supporting it all.
Daddy's old quilt and a brand new one for his little girl.
As well as poem that told the story.
"Spoiler Alert"...check back on Wednesday for an update on that poem.
I have met the best online friends in the world, and I'm excited to share, on the
"2021 My Stitching Resolution" blog hop post.
"Winter Blues Buster"
The winter blues blog hop hosted by Carla at "Creatin in the Sticks" was the perfect way to drive away a gloomy day. This fun Dresden fan, all glitzed up with crystals.
"Jolly Old Santa"
Carol from "Just Let me Quilt" hosted a Christmas in July hop. It was just the push I needed to work on a pattern that's been in my pile for way to long.
I finally broke out my pencils and learned how to paint a face.
While this year will go down as one of those years, for many...
...this sweet little elf made it all worthwhile for us!
Regardless, 2020 can go.
Your winter blues is beautiful! But that little elf is precious!!! Nothing can top that little one!ReplyDelete
I'm still working on my Jolly St. Nick - next year?? Happy New Year; 2021 has to be better!ReplyDelete
Always a pleasure to drop by your blog and see your stunning work. Great work on the Santa face and the elf is just gorgeous as is the bundle in your arms. May 2021 be better for us all.ReplyDelete

So many fun projects for 2020. Thanks for sharing the linky - what a fun way to reminisce of the year that was :)ReplyDelete
Great to see your highlights but the bestest of all is that wee little bundle of joy. We had one too, born in January before all the scary stuff hit. Here's to a less stressful 2021 and all the projects we can create!ReplyDelete
So wonderful to see an old quilt remade into a darling new one. And the recipient could not be more adorable!ReplyDelete
It was a very hard year, but I think it stretched our creative side in a positive way.ReplyDelete
I love your quilt stories! I remember your post about giving new life to your son's baby quilt and now that precious baby has something very special! Congratulations! I am very fond of gnomes (Scandinavian background) but my favorite is your blue dresden fan quilt!ReplyDelete
Precious little elf ;)Lovely projects, and great stories! I love your Gnome, so cute!ReplyDelete
Well, Joan, I think everything you do is a "best!" Great to see these again! Love them all and I totally agree with the last one!! Look out 2021, here we come, rockin' and rollin'! I am SEW ready.ReplyDelete
Lovely to see your special items for this year and I am not surprised to see that several of them are baby related.ReplyDelete
I was really surprised to see your "Race Car Dreams". I have a collections of the Critter Coverlettes patterns--that includes this Race Car pattern--I have shared these vintage patterns with so many quilters!!ReplyDelete
Thank you for your sense of humor and the fun you share all year long. Gotta make the boo sheet! I love it.ReplyDelete
Great finishes! I love the worked quilting and obviously the cutest little one! Thanks for linking up and happy new year!ReplyDelete
