Out of the Dark Blog Hop

Welcome to our "Out of the Dark" blog hop, where we bring you the best of the Halloween goodies that anyone could ever hope to trick or treat for. We have a great lineup of friends, ready to share their projects with you. So sit back and enjoy 4 days of fun.

_______________________________________________________

Twas the night before Halloween and all thru the house

Not a creature was stirring, except for the spouse.

Who was down in the sewing room, so no one would hear

the roar of an embroidery and a sewing machine kicking into gear...

Yep, that pretty much how how it's been around here lately, since I just couldn't decide on what project to share.

So, I have two for you!

First up is "Trick or Treat Smell My Feet" by Shabby Fabrics
It's been in my stash of to-do patterns and was a great reminder of why I love fusible applique.
These colorful little guys just make me smile. Who doesn't remember that saying? I am sure I tormented many with it! HAHAHA

"The Adventures of Ms Stitch" was a block of the week by "Sweet Pea Machine Embroidery".
It was a mystery quilt with a twist. The blocks come with designs to make it a normal sewing theme, or a Halloween theme or a Christmas theme. They also had add-on border blocks in many different themes you could choose to use. I went with the sewing theme.
There were so many fun photos posted on their facebook page, that I might just be making a Christmas one soon, too.
Check out the detail in the blocks...
I bet like me, you can identify with many of them.
LOL!!

They even offered an option for a dog instead of a cat.

There you have it...Halloween rocking my soul once again.

Please visit my fellow bloggers and see their creations.
Leave them a little love with a sweet comment, while you are there.
It means to world to us.

til next time...

  4. For the love of Halloween, you really treated us with two amazing quilts! Raw edge appliqué is my favorite way to create and you inspired me with your spooky houses quilt. Love it! The embroidery one is beyond incredible. All the details are worth a stop and stare. Great quilts, fabulous post…cheers to the Queen of Halloween.

  9. OMG, both quilts are wonderful; aren't you the Cat's Meow! I'm especially fond of the 'smell my feet..." and use that phrase often. Of course, that's my favorite but it's because of the name or is it the purple you used; I love that the blocks are all different. Yep, that can be said of "The Adventures...", too. The block that resonates with me is "My Precious" - that's me over and over!! Your poem is marvelous and so reminds me of YOU. Have a special "Happy Halloween". I thank you; I've missed the hops and Facebook, too. flmeyersathotmaildotcom

  15. Oh, Joan, these quilts are fab-BOO-lous! I love the houses with their individual scenes, but the Sweet Pea wall hanging won me over. I recognize myself in each block. So much fun!

  16. Two amazing quilts, Joan!!!
I have to say that I was not familiar with the rhyme re smell my feet. As Halloween has only really taken off here in the last 10 or 15 years, I did not grow up knowing those fun sayings. Very glad to be introduced to them now, though. Great houses and characters in that one.
And of course all the embroidery blocks are stunning too. Some fun labels in there as well.!

  17. Oh wow! Those are beautiful. I can see that you spent many hours working on them. I'm not sure if I could have finished them, but they are certainly worth it.

  18. These are both fabulous! I had to really make myself resist joining in on the SweetPea one because I just have too much going on right now. But yours makes me even more tempted...
